$13M is steep for a flyer, but otherwise he seems like a worthwhile risk. Mets will need to add a couple horses, though. Guys that even if they aren't great, can be relied upon to make 30+ starts.
Well said, my friend, well said.Oh, lovely.
Cashman is smarter than everyone else. Didn't you know? But why?
We give up nothing to get him.I'm fine with it.Verdugo is mediocre. Doesn't move the needle for me at all.
People said the same about Stanton. We give up nothing to get him.I'm fine with it.
Thankfully he isn't Stanton. We have more protection for Judge when Stanton inevitably gets injured again.People said the same about Stanton.
.264 and 13 homers is making pitching staffs quake in their boots.Thankfully he isn't Stanton. We have more protection for Judge when Stanton inevitably gets injured again.
Positives are he is a left handed outfielder with 281 career average who has been consistently taken 600 plus at bats the last 3 seasons. Ring worthy move? No but possibly a help..264 and 13 homers is making pitching staffs quake in their boots.
It's an absolute negative if the Yankees brass expects him to be a starter for most of the season and it keeps them from making a better move that would actually help the team compete. ...and that is exactly what I expect of this front office. We give up nothing to get him.I'm fine with it.
Luckily Verdugo is a FA after the season. Not really comparable to Stanton or Donaldson. I don't love the move but let's see how the Soto and Yamamoto stuff shakes out before I'm going to waste energy being upset over one year of Verdugo(assuming he's not flipped).People said the same about Stanton.
Shame they couldn't pawn off Clarke Schmidt on them but that was always wishful thinking.King is filthy but moving him now would be selling high after he ripped it up as a starter towards the end of the year (he's not going to hold up in a rotation long term.)
Thorpe would be a tough piece to lose. Wish they liked one of the other arms more.
