It reminds me a lot more of the recent NY Giants dark ages. A franchise that actually had some sustained success that led to them loving the smell of their own farts way too much. Unable to acknowledge that the period is over and refusing to make any necessary changes.

The worst part is acceptance is just STEP ONE. And we don't even seem to be there yet.

Definitely a good comparison as well

It would be hilarious to watch them get on a hot streak to finish the season strong and miss a WC spot by a game

f***ing pathetic that they even thought about trading Alonso to Milwaukee. f***ing Milwaukee

I understand that Cohen is a businessman and makes his decisions like he's running a business, and I have liked that to this point. If he traded Alonso, whether it made sense or not, that would basically be a betrayal of the fan base and he would lose most of the good will he has built up to this point.

Alonso is the most important Met since deGrom and Wright before him. Wright died for our sins. deGrom left on his own volition. Alonso wants to stay. Put the appropriate offer on the table—don’t have to worry about injury risk here.

Alonso is a dummy but I can’t imagine he’s trouble for the franchise. He’s a goofy dude that I get everyone doesn’t love but he’s not a bad guy.

Only thing I can think of is he’s being wildly unreasonable in extension conversations. Other than that, it would be dumb to trade him.

He came back injured in May/June and hit .150 for 75 AB, clearly playing hurt. Take that away and he’s had a good year. He’s probably .250 with 35 homers without june.

despite the negative war and crappy batting average stats as a daily fantasy player i'll take guys like him as often as i can within reason. guys like him, muncy and duvall always pose as a threat. i wish the yankees had any of these guys instead of rizzo and donaldson.

Lotta heads are gonna roll this offseason. I'm not convinced Cashman is safe by any means.

On another note it's good to see Dominguez tearing shit up in AAA.

I think Cash stays, he’s like a brother to Hal. Boone and all his coaches, outside of Blake gone I would say.

All the training staff I would guess. Probably the head of analytics and all his guys go too.

I do wonder if Sabean could LittleFinger Cashman, but I don’t see it.

Pereira strikes out too much.19% clip in the minors, that's something he sure needs to work on.Guess he fits right in with the big club-hit homers and strike out..no in between
