The shit with the Angels is just astonishing. I actually commended them for going for it, as that was probably the only possible way to convince Ohtani to stick around. But the way it blew up... it's just unreal.

Angels just did the equivalent of rage quitting in fantasy and dropped all their players.

It doesn’t have major implications, but there is purpose behind it.

Plus you don’t wanna exceed luxury tax in a non competitive year because the penalty will be higher if you exceed it again following years

The Angels are just the west coast AL Mets.

How that franchise doesn’t get the same lolz as the Mets is a f***ing mystery to me.

lolangels

I feel like they get rightfully roasted. Even before Ohtani, it became a meme of Trout going 4-5 with 2 homers and the Angels losing 7-2.

I think it's very different with the Mets and the Angels.

The Mets contended decently during their window, they got old, and the window shut. Cohen tried to extend it for one more year, which...sure, go for it, and now they're rebuilding. That, I get. That's sports.

The Angels had God and King Kong their entire ass primes and couldn't even make the playoffs.

Now I'm not saying the Mets aren't funny and we all know the memes, but the Angels are a way bigger failure the last ten or so years.

Yeah I saw that, I know there's logic behind what they're doing. It's just crazy that a month ago they're trading good prospects to essentially go all in, and then a few weeks later they've played the worst ball in the league and are waiving half the f***ing team to desperately try to get under the tax threshold. I've never seen anything quite like it, that I can remember anyway.

Yeah, we'll see but I don't really think they're gonna miss any of the prospects they traded away. They guys they acquired were all sort of middle of the road players and free agents, so they didn't cost a lot.

Their system was and still is shit.

Everyone keeps saying they should have traded Ohtani but i don't know how realistic that was. They were in the race at the deadline and he was putting team on his back and having an all-time sporting season. i feel like there woulda been a shitload of backlash if they traded him and punted on the season while just 2-3 games back of the wildcard and him having one of the best seasons in history of the sport.

Yeah I don't think they'll miss any of the guys either. As is often the case with prospects, they'll probably flame out.

I thought it was great that they decided to keep Ohtani and give it one final go with him and Trout together. Sucks it didn't work out.

Sucks that Baty and Vientos have shown next to nothing in their time in the bigs. I'm still hopeful they can turn it around, but it would be great to see it this year so they keep themselves in real consideration for a spot heading into the winter and then into ST.

IDK what Mauricio is going to be. His analytics don't exactly paint an optimistic picture and that's compounded by the fact he has no position.

I think mauricio is trade bait for a pitcher.

WAs definitely hoping for more from Baty. Still think he can turn it around

Bader was good while here, especially in the playoffs last year. The problem is he can't help spending half a season injured most years.Happy to see him go to a contending team,I wish him the best
