Highlight of tonight's game was the Boone ejection, this team still sucks.Judge and Cole both deserve better

This team is so unwatchable

I like Volpe a lot and think he's going to become a big time player...but it is alarming the kid has almost 130 k's in just over 400 ab's to go with a .210 average.I guess he fits right in with the rest of the lineup besides Judge and Torres

Boone needs to be fired as manager, but if the team could keep him around to just be released onto the field for moments like these, that would be great.

Future manager: "damn, this ump is really crap tonight. we're being savages in that box."

*picks up radio*

"Next time that guy calls a ball a strike, release the hounds"

*Hernandez called strike; the bullpen door swings open and a rabid Boone races out onto the field Gollum-style*

And that is why the Yankees are where they are at...bases loaded no outs and can't even score once.Cabrera can't hit at this level, how long will it take them to figure it out?should be used as a defensive replacement only or pinch runner

if using an opener before your main starting pitcher doesn't indicate that much confidence then i don't know what else to say. there must be an issue that's more serious than just tipping pitches. just shut him down.

Something like 175 players have a .300 or greater career average.

9 guys are hitting over .300 this season. Nine!
9 is still a really low number. 6 is the lowest ever. In the previous decade the sport averaged almost 40 a season with the highest being 53 in 2000 according to washingtonpost article.

Baseball still has one of the lowest batting averages ever in the modern era.

And truthfully im not sure there is anything MLB can do. Pitchers pitch too hard now and have too much movement on their pitches.

Plus scouting and analytics have given defenses huge advantages.

Its also a dumb mindset regarding hitting approach that has been snowballing over the years. Its like the NBA becoming a 3 point and layup league.
