f***ing christ, Oakland sucks. They've walked 12 Mets in less than 7 innings. The Mets scored 6 in the 2nd with just one hit and now 5 here in the 6th with one hit.

EDIT: My god it's only the 5th.

Mets need to make moves after this road trip.

Get Baty up. Vientos can platoon at DH with Vogelbach. If he crushes it, then he takes the job.

Get rid of Locastro. Pham can be 4th OF bc I’m not convinced of Canha anyway.

I agree they need to make moves but it's still not clear who they'd move out. If someone wants Escobar or Pham that would be great, but they feel like the type of guys we'd have to pay to have someone take. I think Pham is giving them what they expected so they probably don't want to move him.

The Mets aren't a particularly fast team and so losing Locastro would be an issue, as he's really the only effective PR. He's also the only guy on the team beyond Nimmo who can play a passable CF. I don't know, it's tough. Would be great if there were a couple extra roster spots.

Oakland issued 17 walks! Thats incredible.

Also we scored 16 runs with only 1 HR which is impressive.

Escobar got a hit.

We gonna need to make some trades for pitching me thinks this year

Pitch clock might have been the singular best thing for Cole. Dude overthinks things too much.

But now, he's got that FRAWG in him.

So with Cole’s Yankees franchise-tying record of 23 starts with 10+ Ks, I thought to check how many deGrom had with the Mets and if anyone is wondering, he had 58. Seaver has the Mets record with 60.

Nolan Ryan had 215 in his career with Randy Johnson in second with either 212 or 213 (I forget). Jesus Christ, lol.

MLB needs to chill the f*** out.
Yeah I don’t care for any of those ideas at all.

MLB needs to chill the f*** out.
We’re good for now, give it at least 5 years to see how things progress before adding more restrictions to pitchers for example

I wouldnt mind the of the double hook rule. It probably wont actually have much difference. I actually wanted it to be the DH stays until the starting pitcher is replaced. To me that is the perfect blend of AL and NL game styles. Where managers have to actually think and manage the game and bench players become important.

Those other rule changes mentioned in the article can get bent.

Why the f*** is escobar playing? Your starting 3b is named Baty. Stop with this crap. Now.

Also, if Alvarez is gonna be up he needs to start 5 days a week. Otherwise just keep him in AAA and bring up a rando.

Showwalter is kinda pissing me off with his usage of youth. What is he gallants cousin or something?

I don't understand why Scherzer would need to cheat. Seems off to me. And this isn't me just rushing to defend my guy, as I don't really have any specific attachment to him. He's just been outspoken about this stuff before, and the way he reacted he just seemed totally incredulous. The fact that it was Phil Cuzzi again also seems like it's maybe more than a coincidence and MLB needs to institute some more uniform and rigid standards here.

Maybe he just wasn’t getting a good grip in warmups?

Everyone in the world is outspoken about stuff until they get caught, and sometimes the most outspoken people are just the biggest liars, so I take all that with a grain of salt.

MLB umps are just power-hungry dicks who realize that their jobs will be completely handled by robots within 5 years and just want to bask in the sun a little bit more.
