I don't mean to change the tune a bit here but I sure would like to draft Charlie Stramel some how. Obviously not with our first pick but some how. He is a brute and I think he would be great for our team but even more, I would like to know we don't have to play against him. He is another hard worker who brings another attribute to the team.
Loved his game at the WJC. Would be thrilled to pick him up late in the first.

first 10 games : 12 points (1.20 ppg)
next 10 games : 17 points (1.70 ppg)
next 10 games : 18 points (1.80 ppg)
next 10 games : 19 points (1.90 ppg)
next 13 games : 26 points (2.00 ppg)
----------------------------------------
53 games, 33 goals, 59 assists, 92 points (1.74 ppg)

his +63, is by far the best +/- marker in the WHL

Benson’s first game with Geekie and Benson has 6pts and Geekie has 4pts. Savoie who was Bensonless for the first time this season? 0pts.

Bensen doesn’t miss. geekie has had a few line-mates with questionable finishing skills.
I admit I don’t get to watch these guys as much as some you. I was under the impression that Geekie needed to improve his first step not just physically but mentally as well. Playing with a high motor player like Benson can be infectious. Making the additional effort to get open and what not can be more self motivating if you feel like there’s a high likelihood of being rewarded for the effort.

I agree with this. Geekie hasn’t been given the “big name” linemates all year. It’s impacted his statistics. Geekie still has a lot of ways and work to go before he’s an nhl player. He is a project.

I'm pretty sure that Benson-Geekie-Nash was the 2nd line for roughly Oct, Nov and Dec. Top line was Pederson - Savoie - McClennon. Then there was a shuffle mid-season. Then Ostapchuk was acquired and Geekie was pushed down the lineup.

Bensen played muchnof the year w Savoie. Geekie and Nash as a pairing lasted a month or so.

He passes my eye test for sure purely highlights. See the home run swings they were eluding to pre draft in Geekie and Duda. I see kind Hanzal/Voracek hybrid thing going on. Would have to watch something other than highlights to get a feel for that. Let’s see how he builds off this night.

There have been games where Geekie is invisible. Completely invisible to the point where u aren’t sure he played. He needs to be more consistent with being physical and deliver offense regardless of who he is paired with.

I believe I’ve read that here before. That’s not the greatest news for someone who projects in the 2-3 center range. Providing flexibility throughout your lineup and giving your team options is a strength in itself. He’s young and seems well liked. I would love to sit down with a 6 pack with BA. Hear his thoughts about their personalities and how he projects them going forward. Getting older when I scout people now. Purely as an amateur fyi. I can relate to the fact that the growing up process is difficult and they need to learn to become young pros. Geekie is the kind of guy that loves being at the rink. Money doesn’t appear to be a focal point to him. We just need time for the big guy to grow up. Big heavy bodies like that are important in the playoffs. Look at Bickell, Maroon, Franzen, etc. probably better names but you already know this…
