It is exciting to have another chunk of players in a tier of draft spots to research. There really could be some incredible fallers and we haven't even gotten to rising season
So true. I’ve been looking hard at that 25(+/-5) range, while anticipating this trade. In all likelihood, it’s gonna be more in the 15(+/-5) range now. Which is really great.

Absolutely this.

The year we traded OEL and Garland, I had done virtually no research on prospects because we didn't have a pick. I've gotten my tiers of guys picked around that 6-9 range, but now I can start looking at guys in that 11-18 range.

I don't like Oliver Moore at anything inside the top 20...too many other players that have better skills and higher offensive projections.

He's moving down on my board.

Will smith and Ryan Leonard would be awesome. I kind of feel like we may take a defensive player there with Ottawas like Reinbacher.
Wouldn't be suprised if we used some of that draft capital and move up a few spots as well.

I haven't watched the USNTDP guys yet. Based on the stats I still don't understand why Perreault isn't getting any mentions here or why Leonard or Moore might get more attention.

McKenzie's poll
6 Smith
10 Leonard
11 Moore
23 Perreault

Compare that to the pts/game tweet on the prev page. It's weird. I'm sure there's a reason, I just haven't heard it yet.

I'm at odds on position to pick with the Ottawa selection...we need D, but we've got Lamoureaux in the pipeline and Duda who plays the Right Side even though he's a LHD.

I do know we need more firepower up front, so I think I'd still go offense with the Ottawa selection, especially if Yager or Dvorsky or Barlow is sitting there.

I'd go BPA. #1 goal should be selecting a player with the best odds of being a solid NHLer. There are no guarantees, even mid-first Rd.

If you end up with too many forwards and not enough D, then make a trade

I really like Leonard, and I think we could use another RW....we could use alot of things though

Perreault plays RW and he's outscoring Leonard quite handily.
Did he tease you in kindergarten? Why not him?

Looking at the Chicago roster tonight...it's a who's who of AHL mediocrity, I doubt they win more than 2 games the rest of the way. Chicago finishes dead last easily.

Pellikka gives me Soderstrom vibes. If we go D with the Ottawa pick we need to go for high upside. Gulyayev or Reinbacher

Michkov at 5 and Yager at 13. Love that.

Hmm, I wonder if we're more open to Michkov now sicne the Sens pick is a nice "backup".
That Jets picks looks really nice. Let’s get Schmaltz over there for it (I mean the placement looks great, not the player necessarily haha)

I didn’t like his WJC personally. A lot of people did.

West is too wide open. Jets could easily make the SCF and that becomes a very late pick.
