I would say currently, Carlsson is playing better than what his point total is showing. Örebro started the year really strong but has hit a brick wall recently with rumors regarding their captain close to leaving and the coach not being offered a new contract, despite how he's leading the best ÖHK team ever whilst also being great at integrating youth into the team.
This all seems to have set their distractions in the team as they've started playing worse. Carlsson is still very much a bright spot but as a 17 year old he's not quite ready to kick and drag this team to wins on his own.

Having seen each one of his games this year, I still hold him 4th in the draft, although I'd pick him third over Michkov for reasons that have been brought up multiple times already with his contract.

By the end of the year I'd wager good money there's going to be conversation about Carlsson going first overall.
Scary thing is the Scandinavians have typically been a bit under developed physically come draft time. Looking at his chart it says he’s 6’3 185. Quite a lot of room for growth there and he already looks quite strong on his skates. His highlights resemble nhl decision making in close quarters and he has terrific passing ability on the backhand. Not everyone’s strong making plays that way and it’s what separates a good passer from an elite passer. Just not seeing anything that won’t translate to the smaller ice surface if anything I think it would benefit him. Probably more opportunity to be on the puck create turnovers and make silky plays into the slot from both corners. Honestly I have Fantilli over him just because I see more of a driver in play style. Kind of a tone setting type but I’m interested to see how the rest of the year plays out.

Currently drafting anywhere from 5th to 7th (not counting the Coyotes winning the lottery - cant have that kind of luck).

Coyotes aren't going to be on the pace they started the season with. They've lost four in a row and only two teams have fewer points than us. As bad as Anaheim is, I bet they finish the season ahead of us. BA will draft one of the big three.

I hope so. Missing out on a generational player for the 3rd time would be devastating. And you cant rule out the willingness of other teams tanking harder than the Coyotes.

Leo makes it look easy

Goalies probably crap their pants when they see LC coming. He's 6'3 and almost 200 lbs at 17 doing this against men in the highest league in Sweden. I won't cry if he becomes our big 1C we've been needing since the bronze age.

Bedard Fantilli or Carlsson

The way we're playing, we'll probably finish right where we're at or slightly better so what we looking at is: So out of the next group of players who do you take?

Bedard
Fantilli
Carlsson
Michkov

Benson
Sale
Dvorsky
Smith
Yager
Barlow

I'd take Sale/Dvorsky/Smith/Yager over Benson and then I think Ritchie is a drop from that 2nd group

1st Group: Bedard/Fantilli/Carlsson/Michkov
2nd Group: Benson/Sale/Dvorsky/Smith/Yager/Barlow/Wood
3rd Group: Ritchie/Danielson/Allan/Gauthier/Perreault/Cristall/Nilsson/Heidt/Dragicevic

Cristall/Nilsson making case for 2nd group

I think I'd rank that second group for me as: Smith/Dvorsky/Yager/Sale/Wood/Benson/Barlow

I just don't want another short winger with skill (Benson), I'll take the big C or W that drives the play

Still stuck in Forum 40
We talked about getting Ds in the draft, building up our blueliners prospect pool, but it seems that this upcoming draft is weak compared to the high quality of forwards. Am I mistaken? And who are the top defensemen in the draft, to keep an eye on? And is Caden Price related to Carey, I see he plays for Kelowna?

Caden Price is a likely 1st rounder at this point. He plays in Kelowna but he’s from Saskatchewan. I don’t believe he’s related to Carey in any way.

Cam Allen is usually listed as the top D in the draft but he’s been falling. He plays in the OHL.

I think I’ve got Lukas Dragicevic 1st on my list. I also think I’m higher on Hunter Brzustewicz than most people seem to be.

The hipster Twitter scouts seem to love Mikhail Gulyayev. I’ve seen Theo Lindstein in the 1st on several lists. Same with Maxim Strbak.

Corey Pronman is weirdly obsessed with David Reinbacher and Dmitri Simashev, having both in his top half of the 1st.

Sounds good hope you're right. You usually are
The trick is that I give so many opinions about everything all the time, so that nobody can ever keep them straight. Then, whenever anything happens, I can just say “told ya so” and how can anyone ever argue? Too many posts to sift through.

Haha. I’m good with Hayton. We’ll be done with Boyd and Bjugstad soon. And Hayton will get more opportunity and probably become something. :)
They probably wouldn't have signed Bjugstad if Hayton did his job last year. Hayton will probably end up a poor man's DVO. I thought for sure Hayton would get at least 40pts. this year. At least he is doing better than Stepan.
