Long shot but if it’s from Buffalo , would rather we try to get Cozens (unlikely i know !)
I actually think Mittelstadt is the better fit for us and might even be the better player in general. His game has really took off the last 12 months.
Wouldn't be a rental. They'd have to agree to a new deal otherwise it's a no.
Cant afford the new deal realistically. He'd be getting like $9M and unless the Avs no Landy is done, they wouldn't be able to do that.

Just use Bo+Ritchie+ for JEE+Middleton

This is what I would be pushing hard. JEE is the perfect fit for us and on a phenomenal contract. He's Lindholm but better and not about to make $9M per year.

Unfortunately I dont think he's even remotely available.

I'm ready to move Bo as much as anyone else, but I dont think trading Bo for a UFA rental would be a great move.

I want Zegras or Mittelstadt.

Avs window is pretty much over after next season, and that's assuming they find themselves a 2C. I'd trade Bo for Lindholm right now even if it meant Lindholm was a rental.

Gotta take your best shot when you can. The Avs will be playing meaningless hockey in 20 months.

Call me crazy, but the idea of signing an alcoholic to a team with a player currently in rehab and another guy who outright refused treatment/help doesn’t sound that great to me.

Keep Perry away from this team.

At least Sammy will have company in rehab...

LOL!! Whatever you say bud.

There is no way this teams window will be closed as long as Mackinnon, Makar and Rantanen are playing. They are 3 of the top 10 players in the league right now.

Cale is carrying this team. If the Avs were in a big market he'd be the front runner for the Hart right now.
He’s one of the front runners anyway… we’re just so early the chatter isn’t high league wide.

You mean the same three guys that went out in the first two rounds 4 of the 5 times they've played together?

The only time they were even remotely competitive in the postseason was when they had a real 2C, proper depth up front and on the backend, and stayed healthy.

The optimistic ignorance is startling.

I agree. I'd argue they have just a good a roster as last season.

Any team that takes the Avs lightly in the first round is making a big mistake. I can easily see them pushing a team to 7. And possibly even winning a round if they get some bounces.

I don’t think Nuke refused help but your point definitely remains lol.

I dunno, one might expect a guy like that to be more apt to behave himself after suffering a public humiliation and professional setback like that.

That said, I just don't see it happening. Perry should be given another chance just like Jim Montgomery received, once he gets his house back in order.

Yeah I mean if he really is this excellent clubhouse leader and mentor for almost 2 decades, with all that experience and a Cup, he definitely merits another chance. It's not like he'll stick around all that much longer anyway.

Makar, Rantanen and MacK remind me of the old days where teams like the Bolts just ran Boyle, Richards, Lecavalier and St. Louis into the ground to be competitive. On any individual night one of those 3 pulls enough weight the team has a good chance to win. Makes the team super top heavy.

I would say Rants did the carrying first half of this season tho. Now Makar is. MacK quietly stepping up, would be nice if it were louder.
