I'd honestly staple Vatrano to Zegras and Carlsson and move Terry away from that first unit. From that one game I managed to watch, I think Z and Carlsson have better chemistry together than Terry does with either one of them, and a shooter could benefit those two creative puck hounds more.

Give Terry to Mac and see what they can conjure up together. Maybe they free up space for one another to play their preferred play styles.
I could go for a top 6 of:

Vatrano - Carlsson - Zegras
Rico - Mac - Terry

Bottom 6:

Jones - Groulx - Stroke
Johnston - Carrick - Leason

Load manage Silf.

What about sticking mctavish on that top line and play the rucchin role that selanne and kariya got for Z and terry

Since we know that carlsson makes everyone around him better put him in between killorn/Strome and vatrano

Z mctavish terry
Killorn/Strome carlsson vatrano

Are they going to send Luneau back, then?
Id like to see Luneau get a few more games before they send him down, but due to the roster makeup, I think he will eventually be sent down

I am being very skeptical about that.

I dont think they can lie about that without running a foul of the CBA. If hes out due to LBI and they (league, NHLPA) determine its the Labrum again, I think there is some penalties.

I usually don't pay as much attention to defense (even when I play hockey :D ) but Minty always seems to be noticeable in a good way. I think he got caught up the ice last night which led to a 2 on 1 and he got back and got a stick on the shot? It might be that he just seems more visible or the defense has been so bad that any time someone does something right, it's magnified, but is this the best start a rookie D has had with the Ducks, at least in the last 10-15 years?

Lindholm looked similarly poised and in control, making all the right reads. He wasn't as dynamic as Mintyukov, but Mintyukov isn't quite as solid as Lindholm.

LaCombe becoming near Hampus quality on D would thrill me. LaCombe is calming on the ice and late period fluke delay of game aside he has been good.

Minty is different…

We havent had a true skilled offensive defenseman (who isnt a massive defensive liability) in a long time. Minty holds the line, pinches when appropriate, makes skilled passes, and importantly rarely gets burnt by poor decisions. At 19 that is remarkable… if this level of play keeps up (his sample size is still only 6) the sky is the limit when he is LaCombes age at 22.

Hope is a dangerous thing as a sports fan, he may get hurt, he may get load managed, he may want out of California taxes, who knows. All i know is he looks like he has “it”. And i cannot remember the last ducks rookie who i felt that way about. But i know one other young d i did.

It is weird how stories stick in your head. After the avalanche won the cup a couple years ago, Gabriel Landeskog was on the ice being interviewed by emily kaplan in post game. He was asked a question to the effect of “the nhl is a copycat league, what do you think other teams should take away from your journey?” Without a beat landeskog said “Find a Cale Makar”

I know it is too early but god damn it would be amazing if we found ours

Like you said, certain players just 'get it.' Creating offensive chances and seeing ways to create rushes up the ice is 2nd nature for them. You can see the difference clear as day between Minty and other guys. Those other guys might be perfectly fine players, it's more what Minty does above and beyond rather than what other guys can't do.
