The 2 players I keep coming back to for legit top 6 help are Boeser and Nylander. :/ both have had stupid good starts to the season.

Can’t say I understand why. Both are nearing huge UFA contracts that don’t make that much sense for us to hand outThe 2 players I keep coming back to for lwgot top 6 help are Boeser and Nylander. :/ both have had stupid good starts to the season.
I'm thinking as long term fits not just their current contracts. RS forwards with histories of scoring goals and both with stocky builds at 6'-6'1" both over 200 lbs. Boeser is probably the guy you target if you want a guy who will put up around 60-70 pts and pay around 7 mill and Nylander is the guy if you want that next tier player but will cost 2-3 mill more. Can’t say I understand why. They aren’t fits for us on their next contracts. They will be in their 30s signed long term by the time our young core is in their primesI'm thinking as long term fits not just their current contracts. Assuming no one in our system lands, who do you think works for us? Who is next season’s debrincat? They aren’t fits for us on their next contracts. They will be in their 30s signed long term by the time our young core is in their primes
Boeser is the same age as Terry. How long are we going to keep pushing out competing or trying to. At this stage they likely represent the final top 6 piece for years to come. The only argument I can come up with is cost which is true for ANY legit winger we may target. Given the deal we just gave Killorn I don't think age is as big an issue for PV as the rest of us make it out to be. If we only want to spend 5-6 mil then we're likely to end up with a Rico/Strome type of player. I think we all would prefer someone closer to the 2 I mentioned. They aren’t fits for us on their next contracts. Bit hard to say now, we’ll have a much better sense of that in a few months (and also a better sense of whether this team is even ready to make such a move)Assuming no one in our system lands, who do you think works for us? Who is next season’s debrincat?
Age isn’t the issue here, it’s age in conjunction with contract length. Do you think this team is a top 6 winger from being a contender? I certainly don’t think they’ve shown that. Yes Boeser and Terry are the same age but an 8 year deal to Boeser in 2 years is a deal that runs 3 years longer than Terry’s. I’m all for making a significant addition when the time is right but they need to fit our coreBoeser is the same age as Terry. How long are we going to keep pushing out competing or trying to. Evander Kane has been a cancer inside and outside the locker room. He’s exactly what you don’t want as a role model for young players.Evander Kane would be perfect for this team. He hits, hes skilled and most importantly he wants to win.
I can see why the above would be looked down upon by people who are addicted to the tank.
I wonder what the price for us for Debrincat would’ve been.thoughts on acquiring Cam Atkinson? He’s a bit smaller/older than I’d like but a proven goal scorer that we need
Not sure what the price would be
Henrique-Carlsson-Terry
Vatrano-Zegras-Atkinson
Killorn-McTavish-Strome
Oof didn’t realize he’s 34. Thought he was more like 29-30
Nevernind
Debrincat would have been real nice in hindsight…
I would assume they will re-sign him, but I’m very interested in what Carolina decides to do with Necas (he’s an RFA). Maybe one of Kakko/Lafreniere could be available?Assuming no one in our system lands, who do you think works for us? Who is next season’s debrincat?
It's fair and I'm not sure either is reasonable add honestly. But as far as the skill level a build they're pretty good fits and I'm not sure I see a better one except maybe Stamkos as a ufa? Generally I don't see a whole lot of guys being available and these 2 probably aren't either. Looking around the league I'm not sure who you target. Debrusk maybe? An old P. Kane? Maybe St Louis parts with Buchnevich and starts a rebuild?Age isn’t the issue here, it’s age in conjunction with contract length. Do you think this team is a top 6 winger from being a contender? I like DeBrusk as an offseason target. I’m a huge Buchnevich fan, but I wouldn’t touch him unless we can sign him to a reasonable extension. He’s also been a bit injury prone. It's fair and I'm not sure either is reasonable add honestly. Cant see necas getting loose from carolina. Although i would love to see offer sheets actually get used sometimes.I would assume they will re-sign him, but I’m very interested in what Carolina decides to do with Necas (he’s an RFA). Maybe one of Kakko/Lafreniere could be available?
There are not a lot of obvious trade candidates at this point, but this team also doesn’t NEED to make a trade right now. No reason to try to force anything when this team isn’t a player away from taking the next stepIt's fair and I'm not sure either is reasonable add honestly. Has he? That's a bummer.I like DeBrusk as an offseason target. I’m a huge Buchnevich fan, but I wouldn’t touch him unless we can sign him to a reasonable extension. He’s also been a bit injury prone.
The only way I could see it is if Carolina spends big on a UFA (Nylander? Stamkos?). I could maybe see them using Necas to acquire a young defenseman (Zellweger?).Cant see necas getting loose from carolina. Although i would love to see offer sheets actually get used sometimes.
As long as Detroit was interested I don’t know that it would’ve even mattered, seems that’s always where he wanted to signI wonder what the price for us for Debrincat would’ve been.
Why the heck would the Oilers trade Hyman??If we're looking at a deal with Edm Hyman would be an interesting target.

No idea. I'm not saying he is. Just of the edm players outside of the obvious he stands out to my as the type if player we'd want. He's a worker with a 2 way rep if I recall correctly. I'm just throwing names out to discuss. :/Why the heck would the Oilers trade Hyman??
That is both reasonable, sensible and boring. No point in being a keyboard warrior wannabe GM if that kinda attitude permeates (jk of course).Since we're in a development season this year (see Carlsson load mgmt) and next, why not wait to see who else develops or becomes available due to cap constraints? I kinda want to know what we have defensively, both at the NHL and AHL levels. And the more our d-men look like future NHLers, the more draft capital we have.
