Oh, wasnt sure... then idkLuneau still counts on the active roster while on conditioning loan
Since without him they only have 6 defensemen, it makes sense that they would go with 8D on the roster, but if they're planning to activate Killorn tomorrow it's a bit interesting that they filled the roster spot already. Of course they can send someone down (maybe Hagg again), but it would be weird to call him up on a day they don't play just to send him down againOh, wasnt sure... then idk
He went through the whole training camp.. remember he played in one pre season gameI wonder if killorn had enough training camp to not need so much time to get up too speed, also, I would imagine he’s been able to stay active given it was only a finger injury?
I don't like Killorn on this line. He's the guy that follows the rush up, and then finds the perfect positioning around the net to receive a pass/tip, or get a rebound. For me his ideal linemates would be Zegs and Strome.Admittedly I don't know a ton about Killorn but based on his age I'd guess speed-wise he is probably a good fit with Silfverberg, too?
I really don't think anyone would claim Silf's salary/production, so dick move aside, if it saves a waiver claim against us, then I'd do it. If injuries pile up(likely Silf), then guys like Brock and Bo become valuable. If Silf did get claimed, his 12 minutes could be easily covered by Bo or McGinn as PK'ers anyways. I'd hope they make the best decision for the team.I also just don't think that they would waive Silf out of principle. Waiving Henrique was seen as kind of a dick move

What does McGinn bring that Silfverberg doesn’t that you wouldn’t waive him instead?I don't like Killorn on this line. What duckpuck said, and he adds an extra year of service as a Silf like player. What does McGinn bring that Silfverberg doesn’t that you wouldn’t waive him instead?
Money (as far as cap, and they’re also getting decent attendance as far as real money goes) is sorta irrelevant for this season. They’d almost certainly rather have the empty roster and cap space next year. They’re having to send players through waivers now, roster flexibility would be be better sooner rather than later. What duckpuck said, and he adds an extra year of service as a Silf like player.
Supposedly Silf is being counted on in a big way as a mentor to Carlsson and has really hit it off with him. Since this year is openly more about developing Carlsson properly than it is about fielding the most competitive roster every night, Verbeek may very well value him beyond his on-ice contributions despite the limited personal connection.Given Verbeek has less of a personal connection with Silf, I could see him waiving him. Doubt it actually happens though.

I also think people are comparing Silfverberg now to past Silfverberg, more than they're comparing him to other players who might be waived, but that's a different issue. Being an effective PKer makes him more useful than Jones immediately, and for all the grief Silfvy gets about his health issues, it's not like he's McGinn who's been hurt so much it's hard to remember he exists.
It has nothing to do with his play. I just think Silf is the least likely be claimed. 3 forward spots open up from UFA's next year, so that's really not an issue. Next year Brock can be a Silf replacement on the PK. Honestly, there's a handful of guys I wouldn't be upset if waived and claimed, so it's not a big deal.Money (as far as cap, and they’re also getting decent attendance as far as real money goes) is sorta irrelevant for this season. McGinn cleared waivers in March. What about his play makes you think he’s likely to be claimed now?
The goal differential stands out. They’re not getting blown out this season by anyoneThrough 11 games last season:
3-7-1 GF 29 GA 52 (-23)
This season:
7-4-0 GF 37 GA 32 (+5)
Without the big comebacks, can reasonably expect a similar record out of those games, but no denying this is a hugely improved hockey club.
He’s been good in the offensive zone, he’s not the best defensively but we’ve known that. He’s going to start getting much tougher matchups because McTavish seems like he isn’t going to wait around for Carlsson to take the 1C role, he’s just gonna grab it himself.Ranger fan here and big Vatrano fan. Seeing he's putting up great numbers. Have only watched a few Ducks games and he's looked good. How has his overall game been?
