Through 11 games last season:

3-7-1 GF 29 GA 52 (-23)

This season:

7-4-0 GF 37 GA 32 (+5)

Without the big comebacks, can reasonably expect a similar record out of those games, but no denying this is a hugely improved hockey club.

I think it’s a good trade off. The first 5 games felt they deserved to win more of those. Officiating continues to be against them but they are getting it done.

PP and PK are starting to click now, and if we can get Zegras going, could have three scoring lines.

Drysdale back and healthy will also be huge. He will help a lot.

Ranger fan here and big Vatrano fan. Seeing he's putting up great numbers. Have only watched a few Ducks games and he's looked good. How has his overall game been?
McTavish is definitely "the" guy on that line, but Vatrano has worked surprisingly well with him. Mac was hyped for his shot when he was drafted but it feels like his playmaking/decision making is underrated. Having Vatrano there lets him show more of his playmaking side while still scoring goals (I believe Vatrano got him the puck out front for the game winner last night?).

Mac's playmaking isn't underrated; it just wasn't and isn't recognized by the mass majority. If you watch his WJC-18 youtube video by bigwhite06 (zero-six), it's all on display there. There was just a huge narrative on this board that Mac was nothing, but a shooter.

The best pass I liked was Mac splitting two defender with the pass to Othmann in front of both.

Maybe underrated isn't the correct word? But what you said is what I meant, that it wasn't really recognized by most people.

He’s been good in the offensive zone, he’s not the best defensively but we’ve known that. He’s going to start getting much tougher matchups because McTavish seems like he isn’t going to wait around for Carlsson to take the 1C role, he’s just gonna grab it himself.

So weird that he seems inept defensively 5v5 but is very good on the PK. Different skillset I suppose. I still love the shenanigans he pulls from time to time on the ice, and his shot is obviously very very good. No chance he sustains this scoring pace but when he’s hot he’s hot.

I can see us juggling a little bit, but I dont think there is much to change/touch right now.

Once Killer is up to speed, that might change. Will also change on the nights Carlsson is out, and unforeseen injuries. Other than that though, 2nd line is nails, 1st line is learning their way and 4th line seems to be working even with the little carousel of wingers.

Do goalies not get respect? All those comebacks happened because our goalies helped prevent any more goals against.

It's a team effort as there's someone new helping the Ducks win.
Why do you always feel the need to get combative? I’m a huge fan of both our goalies as I’ve said in the Gibson thread

McTavish and Minty have been better I would say.

Questioning why players are left out is combative? You're a huge fan of our goalies, but not huge enough to be considered part of our best players convo. Is it because goalies aren't flashier that they don't get recognition that they shouldn't be in the convo of being the best players on the team?

Between Gibby and Dostal, there have been only two games under .900 Sv %. Gibby posted 0.919 and 0.920 in two losses. Dostal won rookie for the month of October, not Mintyukov.

I like that you proved his point about being combative lol

Commenting on a post is now considered combative b/c a person doesn't agree with the post. Interesting atmosphere. Kinda like Dostal winning NHL rookie for the month of October and isn't recognized as one of the best Ducks makes complete sense.
