From the Flyers site:

Eklind, 25 (7/14/98), spent the 2023-24 season with Lulea HF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and collected 28 points (17-11=28) in 48 games. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Swedish native led Lulea in goals, ranked T-1st in hits (60), second in power-play goals (6) and penalty minutes (64), T-2nd in game-winning goals (3) and fourth in scoring.

Eklind registered 58 points (30-28=58) and 125 PIM in 160 career contests in five SHL seasons (2016-18, 2021-24) with Malmo, Brynas IF Gavle and Lulea HF. He collected 66 points (31-35=66) and 115 PIM in 183 career contests in four seasons (2017-21) with Patern IK and Mora IK of HockeyAllsvenskan.

I want to say something clever but ...

There was also that weird press conference before training camp asking if they expected Hart to show up and Briere was a bit noncommittal.
And then Danny, in response to questions, said he talked to Carter and everything was going to be fine.

Could STH's pull a class action lawsuit for the team lying about everything being OK with Hart, when they KNEW it wasn't. Lying to your customers can be a problem.

Last May:
"I see Carter being the goalie of the future," said Briere. "He's still young. He's still part of what we'd like to build here. He fits into that window.
"It would have to be a crazy load of a haul to even consider trading him."

In training camp:
Danny Briere Says "There's Nothing To It" About Carter Hart Going Private on Instagram

Tweet from Eric Engels: Regarding Carter Hart privatizing his Instagram+removing the Philadelphia Flyers from the account, GM Danny Briere says there's nothing to it, that he talked to Hart, who's excited for this coming Flyers season, and that, as of now, he expects him to be at camp and ready to go.

At this time for sure, Briere knew that Hart was one of the guys involved. Danny's good at lying, but is it OK for people to pay thousands for tickets when the franchise goalie might leave at any time?

Flyer's playoff hopes are looking about as good as those black cooperall pants.

If the Flyers go 3-1-0...

they still have to "hope" that 3/4 of the following also happen (or worse):

Islanders: 2-3-0
Red Wings: 2-2-1
Penguins: 2-2-0
Capitals: 2-2-1

But since the following games are still to be played:

Capitals @ Red Wings
Red Wings @ Penguins
Isles @ Penguins

That makes it significantly harder for 3/4 of those things to happen.

Basically... if they dont win 3 games AND get a point in the other game? They are not making it barring the other teams jumping through very specific hoops to line up the Flyers getting in.

Probably about a 10% chance of getting in without going 3-0-1 or 4-0-0.

Damn that stinks TK is dealing with something, explains a lot to be honest

I never thought a deadline move made sense for him. He is worth more than the 27th pick in the draft. I’d be calling Ottawa, Montreal, Buffalo to see if they’d move their 2024 first for him

He is going to play game 82 even after they have been eliminated from the playoffs. Because Flyers

I would too but since they aren’t really rebuilding, I highly doubt they move him. The only scenario I would not trade him, aside from bad offers, is if we finish 11th or 12th and win the lottery.

If TK needs surgery it drastically changes the chances of moving him at the draft
That probably depends on the type of injury and the recovery time. But I don't think they're looking to move him anyway. Based on the chatter running up to the deadline, it seems more likely that they have an extension ready to go once July 1 rolls around.

The biggest story of this season, to me anyway - is losing a 5th OA pick for a bag of beans.

All the other bullshit they would like us to focus on, Torts and his antics etc. It’s all just a distraction.

They had two guys who were supposed to be part of the next core. They are down to one, in Matvei.

No matter how they try to proclaim the year a success, it’s a massive step back imo from a talent pool perspective.

Torts gives the edge to players who have experience over those that don’t. The problem with that is that it prevents young guys from ever getting the experience that they need to edge out a vet. So guys like Brink and Attard get to sit and not grow their game while Staal, Deslauriers and Atkinson get to **** all over the ice.
I believe that Briere might want a rebuild but as long as Tortorella is here he’ll undermine it with his vets first philosophy. Either Torts or DB has to go and Im good with it either way. If Torts leaves, I’ll continue to follow the Flyers. If Briere goes, I’ll just follow another team rather than one that will be cooked for a decade.

There is *plenty* to hate about Tortorella this year, but “vets first philosophy” is not one of them.

There’s been plenty of ice time for young players (Foerster and York, in particular), and there’s been plenty of veterans who have found themselves outside (Couturier, Atkinson, etc). Infuriating roster decisions? Yeah, but not out of systematic preference for vets.

I guess Atkinson & Deslauries could examples of Tortorella giving a lot more leash than deserved to a veteran player. But more so his questionable lineup decisions have been rooted in personal blind spots & biases if anything. Guys like Brink, Frost, & Couturier didn’t get the breaks that other counterparts in Foerster, Tippett, & Laughton did for examples. The first group got sent to the press box when they didn’t play well &/or produce while the other group never really lost their spots in the lineup while going through similar stretches.

Obviously offensive situations Tortorella has no meaningful solutions to that so that’s at play as well in his decision making. But for the most part a lot for the guys he thinks are good defensively the numbers match as well (Hathaway, Seeler, Poehling, Cates, Foerster, etc.). The biggest discrepancy in that regard is Frost. Tortorella likely sees him as an all offensive guy while his defensive numbers this year has been pretty good, even last year he was about break even.
