At this point, Scott “Mimsy” Gordon is the best Flyers coach of the last five years. Of course being the best Flyers coach of the last 5 years is akin to being the least dangerous STD.

It will never not be hilarious how fast he got the NHL squad to start flinging pucks uncontrolled. It's that easy to build bad habits I guess.

Didn't Brink have like 6 points in his last 8 games or something?

I also don't mind Poehling in a slightly elevated role, just to see what he has. But you can do that without having to scratch Brink and Poehling.

Whatever, at least we know what to expect going forward....as if we didn't at the beginning of the year...

This perfectly encapsulates how ass backwards the Flyers are. They have the greatest 4th line to ever 4th line -- it had a cutesy nickname after preseason! -- but prime age players can't accurately show their skill on that line. Because they play a plug, with no healthy scratches approaching 100 games played with this team. But they work from the 4th line up in setting their roster.

And Tortorella is so worried about Cates and Poehling showing all they have offensively. In theory? Cool beans. I wholeheartedly encourage it. Part of me wonders if this is overcorrection after whiffing on William Karlsson as a 4th liner with Columbus. Again, I think this is all fine, but Tortorella's priorities also don't align with this -- or outright make it harder. But he's so singularly focused on 24 year olds who have never shown the requisite offensive chops, while throwing overboard, like jetsam, the similarly aged more talented player who has actually produced. I must be missing the gentle encouragement there.

To summarize: Torts is an asshole

Foerster's play off the puck means he gets more chances to regain his offense. Brink doesn't get that same chance.

Prospects see what they value and focus on what keeps them playing at the expense of developing their offensive skillset.

Both Poehling and Belpedio can extend their stay in the lineups with a fight. If I was either of them, that would be my focus for the next game. Jump whomever throws a boreline hit.
Honestly feel like Belpedio has been fine would definitely keep him over Risto, Staal, and Seeler. Too bad hits, veteran presence, and shit at offense matters more to this org

Benching the kids isn't even the worst part,

The fact they are admitting on trying to win hockey games all while dressing worse players !
The Flyers think playing some shitty veteran players is better than playing better younger players because of uhhh “culture” or something. I have said this a million times but I will say it again. The younger inexperienced kids on this team need to play and work through their struggles and mistakes. They aren’t going to learn a f***ing thing sitting upstairs watching

I don't mind wingers playing their off side, but it seems weird to have two natural RWs playing the left side and then have this Frankenstein 3rd line of Laughton-Poehling-Farabee.

Hathaway has been dissapointing for a $2.35m player. Outscored 7-2 so far, and only 2 points.

NAK has 3 points for the Capitals, and he's only played 3 games.
