Just think.

We have a C who the last 4 games has been on the ice for 6 goals against while 5vs5, and none scored(only player on team not to be on for a goal scored 5vs5).

We have another C who the last 4 games has been on the ice for no goals against while 5vs5 and 2 scored while creating TONS of chances for linemates. Gets scratched.

Torts scratches everyone they say

63.89 xGF wasn't enough to stay in the lineup, but 40.57 was.
Tweet that to all the dipshit Flyer fan boys.

Like honestly, if there was ever a time to not bench Frost, and bench Cates, it's after these last 4 games.

It just further proves Torts has a personal issue with Frost, and Briere is allowing it to happen.

What an era, just a different shade of orange.

Fun Frost Facts:

At 5v5 since coming back into the lineup...

Best xGF% of the top 9
Best xGF/60 of the top 9
Best xGA/60 of the top 9
Best CF% of the top 9

4 game sample, so by O'Connor rules this is more than enough to gloat about.
I wonder if Mutt and Jeff will ask acknowledge this post ?

So you can't even come up with one other NHL comparable for Morgan Frost. Somehow I'm not surprised.

If people think Morgan Frost is the same caliber as Cole Perfetti, then I at least understand why they are upset at Frost sitting.

But it reinforces my belief that these people are severely overrating Morgan Frost.

I'm not going to put an ounce of thought into whatever bad-faith bullshit you're trying to pull here. I remember when you giddily celebrated the Yandle signing and mocked me for telling you that he sucked ass. I have no faith in your ability to accurately understand any comparison made.

On top of all that, I've made it clear for many drafts in a row that I dislike player comparisons. Players are individuals. All that matters is if they can be effective. Frost is effective.

Give me a player. What other player in the NHL do you think most closely compares to Morgan Frost?
I'm not generally into finding hockey player doppelgangers, so the point is this: there is only one centre in the Flyers organization that can routinely outproduce Frost over a full season and that's Couts. Unfortunately, we don't even know what we have in Couts going forward, though he has looked pretty much his regular self so far.

If you're looking to see what you have through a rebuild, routinely benching a player over others that are struggling at least as much as the single player being scratched is asinine.

Now, we also have Cates getting what honestly should be the linemates and usage that Frost should and with what Frost ran with last year. Cates isn't needed for the tough opponent match ups, so he has been given a scoring line opportunity... and is proving unable to handle it. This is the problem. For Torts, Cates can do no wrong and Frost can do no right. I think there's a lineup combination that allows for both players to have solid middle six performances over the long term, but we're never going to see it.

I'd rather the Flyers just cut ties with Frost. It's infuriating to see players sitting on the sidelines that are better players than several in the lineup who aren't given the same treatment for inefficiency... and part of the problem is that, for players who are clearly struggling, there is no perceived inefficiency by the people that matter.

Rude? I thought you were going to tell me it was a gotcha question. So you can't answer your own question?
Another Frost fan who refuses to name one other NHLer he compares him to.

For all the exasperation, for some reason these Frost fans don’t want to name their comparables. Why is that?

too much hang-up on the name...its not about who it is..its about the repeated situation happening over and over
I’m trying to get a sense of how you guys rate Frost that makes you so exasperated that the Flyers feel differently.

So give me a player you think Frost compares to so I can see where you’re coming from.

I rate Frost at about Anthony Beauvilier level.

But obviously most of you think he’s (a lot) better than that, even though most of you can’t name someone you rate as equivalent.

What is the point of this pointless exercise? This serves absolutely no purpose except for you to complain about people not playing your arbitrary game where we all know there are no answers you'd accept.

I think damned near everyone hear rates him at a middle six level. For some reason this reality isn't something you accept, and you feel the need to lie instead.

He's already better than Anthony Beauvilier, by the way. Of course, you also wrongly think he's a one way player and your evaluation skills left you determining that Yandle was a great signing, so this isn't a surprise.

This is not a comparison that ever would have remotely made sense to me.

Who do you see as comparisons to guys like Couts, TK, Farabee, and Sanheim? This is genuine curiosity on my part.

I'm a Frost fan? A fanboy even? Cool. Based on what? Asked you to answer your own question?

What should be the target in a frost trade?

Scratching an Anthony Beauvillier in favor of Nic Deslauriers is outrageous, and that is before the age/rebuild factor is even taken into consideration (Which only further favors Beauvillier)

Actually, Deslauriers is having a pretty good season so far, he looks much better with faster centers than the dreck he played with last season.
On the other hand, Poehling is pretty disappointing, all that speed but he does little with it.

The strangest thing about the game was Couts losing 2/3 of his faceoffs.

I think it's becoming obvious that they have to move a RW and add a true LW.
None of the RWs seem comfortable on the left side.

Beauvillier is an overrated offensive player who is invisible for long stretches & who no coach would want to play on the 4th line.

Trotz healthy scratched him 2 years ago when he was Frost’s age.

Though, granted, Beauvillier made the NHL much earlier than Frost & also had two productive playoff performances, so he’s done things Frost hasn’t. In that sense I’m being pretty damn generous.

Flyers brass sees more offense in Cates. Why? Best guess is he is an intelligent player like Coots so they imagine offense will magically appear.

They incorrectly project Cates just as they are incorrectly projecting Frost.
