I doubt it has anything to do with Frost not kissing Tort's ass.
Frost has said and done the right things.
And if Torts really had it in for Frost, why sign him to a two year bridge? Why wasn't he traded over the summer?

I suspect it's more about Torts/Briere wanting more information on other players and their roles, especially Foerster (keep on team?) and Tippett (can he adjust to LW?).

Fans may feel urgency, but if they feel they're rebuilding, then Briere can afford to be patient and wait a few more games before making some decisions (send Foerster down to LHV, move Tippett to RW and Laughton to LW, keep TK at LW or trade for a LW).

It probably comes down more to Laughton v Frost, which may be driven by Tort's preference for Laughton as an all around player or Briere's desire to showcase Laughton (i.e. if they really wanted to get rid of Frost, they'd play him a lot of minutes in offensive situations to pad his stats).
Why do you keep coming up with these imaginative excuses? There is not one reason for Frost to now have been benched for five straight games, absolutely zero. Even if you want to believe your made up excuse of Torts/Briere wantingmore information on other players and their roles, there are 11 other forwards on the team, you take one of them out so that you can get Frost back into the line up. It's embarrassing the fact that you can't admit this organization has no idea what they are doing with Frost.

Given that Zamula has held his own so far, that's more a general statement of principle than a comment on Z. Andrae was clearly not ready for prime time.

Belpedio is up b/c Risto is out, If he stays, it'll be as the 7th D-man. Or Mete.
You don't use a real prospect in that role.

If Torts was unhappy with Frost, he would have said so. Never one to mince words
Which means something else is going on.

f*** off, dude.

I think it’s important to be crystal clear here. I have never been an Attard guy. I don’t think he has a significant chance to ever be a positive NHL player. This is still utter bullshit.

Please understand I say this with zero malice toward anyone. It’s aromatherapy. It’s astrology. It’s looking to a standup with a sensory deprivation tank to be a thought leader on scientific issues. It’s first place in the division on 10/26. They’re all the same thing.

They’re easy solutions to complex problems. They’re coping mechanisms. Life is hard.

maybe frost was part of a pinto deal and they knew a sussy was coming so they didnt want the lil cannonball to get himself injured the way he plays, all that in your face physicality makes him a target on the ice. best thing to do is let him practice with Belpedio and take shots on *checks notes* Sandstrom

Occam's razor.
If Torts didn't want Frost on the team, he'd have been dealt over the summer, not given a bridge deal.
If Torts was unhappy with Frost, he'd say so. Instead he says he has to get him into the lineup.

Seeler did not look good on the right side, Belpedio is a RHD.

If they are sending a message to Attard, it suggests he's not working on his defense, which is what is keeping him out of the NHL - he has solid offensive skills, but defensive fundamentals have been the issue from the get go. After TDA, they may be taking that more seriously.

Just watched Tort's presser to see if there was anything about Frost. He said

-"So important [to play] for developing players", and

-"We are trying to generate more offensive this year"

Then the question comes about changes to forward lines; Torts replies, 'No changes.' There is no real follow-up questions.

If you're trying to generate more offensive this year, how is it that maybe your best offensive center, your best pure playmaker, the player who led the team in ES scoring last year, who lead the team in preseason this year, is sitting on the bench?

How are these beats not asking for further explanation? Everything Torts is saying would suggest Frost should be playing, but it's now going to be 14 days since the last time this kid has played. He's going to have rust and then Torts will use that to justify another benching.

But the thing is he hasn't said anything real about Frost. He was asked about him once last week, he hasn't been asked significantly since

That's simply not true. We saw it last year, it was the same in CBJ, Torts benched almost everyone at some point, some even multiple times, and they got another shot. Look at TDA, for example.

And if Torts is unhappy with a player he says so. Certainly did with Hayes, etc.

Nor does it have anything to do with "skill," Brink is second in 5x5 TOI, and he's an undersized "skill" player. Cates, his supposed favorite, is 9th in 5x5 TOI.

Torts isn't AV, once you got into AV's doghouse, you never got out.

It's a mystery right now, but the knee jerk reactions simply don't make sense.

How is that any different than you are doing when you say they are just evaluating Foerster?
Because they haven't said Foerster has a starting job.
Brink on the other hand, it's obvious just from his TOI.

Something has to give, and at that point we'll have a better idea what's going on.
