It's hard to imagine that it's not something personal at this point.

The kid has done everything you've asked of him, had a great finish to last year's season, was one of the best in preseason, and played not bad (Tort's own words) in two game, one of which the entire team looked like poopie.

This is how Tortorella works. He’s not a Vigneault, who provides absolutely nothing of value. He’s an effective teacher. He just can’t stop torpedoing relationships and/or himself.

He’s popular because he appeals to a certain segment of the market that thinks that being an asshole is good. That will never change.

It's simple and i've said it before. Torts wants Frost to kiss his ass and he won't. Torts is the biggest egomaniac in the league. He's a genuinely bad person. This is what happens when bad people are in positions of power.

Do we even have beat writers?

The ones that aren't paid shills are so desperate to become paid shills that they all tow the line as well.

I still think HF Boards should start our own blog site or whatever you want to call it. Problem is, apathy is entrenched so deeply that I doubt anyone would think it's worth the effort.

I doubt it has anything to do with Frost not kissing Tort's ass.
Frost has said and done the right things.
And if Torts really had it in for Frost, why sign him to a two year bridge? Why wasn't he traded over the summer?

I suspect it's more about Torts/Briere wanting more information on other players and their roles, especially Foerster (keep on team?) and Tippett (can he adjust to LW?).

Fans may feel urgency, but if they feel they're rebuilding, then Briere can afford to be patient and wait a few more games before making some decisions (send Foerster down to LHV, move Tippett to RW and Laughton to LW, keep TK at LW or trade for a LW).

It probably comes down more to Laughton v Frost, which may be driven by Tort's preference for Laughton as an all around player or Briere's desire to showcase Laughton (i.e. if they really wanted to get rid of Frost, they'd play him a lot of minutes in offensive situations to pad his stats).

One year ago, the GM wasn’t responsible for the personnel decisions because he was a puppet. Now Briere bridging a guy in September is proof that there’s no problem because he speaks for everyone.

But my favorite bit here is really one of the biggest piles of bullshit anyone that has ever crossed anyone’s lips. If they really wanted to get rid of Frost, they would try to pad his stats. You want me to believe that John Tortorella would do this. It’s an unserious notion in an unserious post about an unserious org. At least it’s thematic.

You're posting a lot more in the roster thread this season, Jojo. Is Torts bringing the anger back out?

So little Danny needs to come out and say I'm your boss, play him and the youth or pack your shit Dino.
The Flyers are 21st in ES scoring so far. Which line do you guys think will score more at ES?

Laughton-Frost-Konency

or

Konency-Laughton-Foerster

I was told Torts was the final decision maker. Now the story changes?
I never said that. Briere is the GM and it's his signature that goes on contracts. But Torts sets the lineups, and he's sticking it to his GM right now.

I wish. My wife is in Canada for another month and I’m now semi-retired on a deserted island alone with the dogs. I am the absolute worst at doing nothing, so when I’m not reading or walking, I’m working on my CFB data and have a browser open.

“Which young players have the Flyers ruined?” they asked. “Name one.”

Almost done with the Rhythm of War audiobook. My goodness I don't want to hear anymore about Venli.

Next read is The Will of the Many by James Islington hopefully that'll be a fun read.

Mete and Belpedio are going up

Attard isn’t going up until he learns how to play D in his zone and makes better decisions when and when not to pinch

Ginning has been a different player. Physical and more offensive than last year. His time will will come soon.
The shit veteran D are not held to the same standard. Staal, Seeler can continue to play like shit without worrying about getting scratched.
The process has and will always be flawed.
