I'd take the current group of prospects over that WJC group.

Outside of the handful who jump to the NHL, your depth is determined by your AHL team.
ES Scoring (provides better comparison across players)

2016-17: Sanheim 76g 9-15 24, Weal 43g 10-12 23, Leier 48g 10-15 25, NAK 71g 9-9 18, Morin 74g 3-13 16, Hagg 58g 7-8 15

2017-18: NAK 72g 18-25 43, Lindblom 54g 10-9 19, Vorobyev 58g 8-14 22, Myers 50g 2-11 13, Friedman 65g 1-14 15

2018-19: Myers 53g 7-18 25, Bunnaman 62g 10-11 21, Vorobyev 42g 3-14 17, Friedman 75g 5-19 24, Twarynski 69g 9-11 20, Kase 40g 6-11 17

2019-20: Frost 41g 11-8 19, Vorobyev 45g 8-13 21, Sushko 53g 10-10 20, Kase 51g 7-12 19, Friedman 45g 2-12 14, Ratcliffe 53g 5-6 11, Rubtsov 42g 2-6 8, Twarynski 41g 6-4 10, Bunnaman 29g 3-3 6

2022-23: Foerster 66g 12-16 28, Lycksell 53g 9-21 30, Desnoyers 63g 15-18 33, Attard 68g 10-15 25, Brink 41g 10-11 21, Ginning 68g 3-16 19, Zamula 44g 1-9 10, Wisdom 45g 3-6 9

Yeah, he’ll be the perfect age when the New Era of Orange rebuild is finished next year.

Idiots

This team's management 100% thinks the Flyers will be competing in 1 or 2 years. They have been short changing Sanheim for years and tried desperately to dump him for pennies on the dollar a few months ago.

Mighty fine talent evaluation if I ever saw it.

That was slim Sanheim, tho. Swole Sanheim is a whole new player. :thumbu:

Ottawa needs cap room, Joseph and Brannstrom area available, but they are thin on defense and at center if Norris has injury issues.

Kleven, big LHD, probably needs a year in the AHL before pushing for a 3rd pair spot.
They signed Harmonic as their 3RHD, but not sure what he has left.

So there's possibilities for Briere to work out a multi-player trade, create cap room for Ottawa and provide them with some low cost depth.

Seeler, Allison & ??? for both Joseph and Brannstrom and a major asset(s).
Something like that, give them cap relief and cheap depth.
Can't trade players like Walker b/ they're too pricey.

They need at least $2M in cap relief both to sign Pinto and carry 7 D-men.
Since they're at the roster minimum, even trading Joseph only gives them $2.2M at best (have to replace him on the roster).

Don't think Briere can pry a 1st out of them, but could get a package of assets.
And Joseph would allow you to flip Laughton to another team.

in theory I agree. All depends what the asset is, if boucher I pass.

Good lord please stop with the they can then move Laughton crap. It is just that crap, they are not trading him.

How long is Brannstrom contract? he dont strike me as a JT guy.

Brannstrom is on a one year deal, so he wouldn't be hard to flip.
If you get Joseph, someone is redundant.
