I'm just curious if you actually misremember this stuff, intentionally lie, or if you dislike the current Flyers so much that your brain actually alters your memory. Clarke has never changed his story as best as I can tell or the two players he claims the scouts liked. There's also been multiple independent confirmations of the scouts liking Heiskanen.

Do you have some type of link to where Clarke "changed his story" in your mind? I searched and couldn't find anything that could even remotely qualify.

First he said it was Heiskanen, and then he changed it to Makar. He also claimed it was unanimous, also a lie. Clarke lies like he breathes when it comes to slamming someone who has committed the slightest offense to his all-destroying ego.

Oh, and let's not forget that Clarke tried to lie about him wanting Makar at the time over Patrick, which is the least believable thing possible. It's a complete lie told to make him look smarter than Hextall. That's the point. It shouldn't be believed.

Because as far as I know, Clarke said in his one direct comment on the matter that they wanted Makar. Sources around the league were then asked for comment on what Clarke said, and several people said it was Heiskanen, not Makar (as had always been rumored).

Also, just because someone has an agenda, doesn't mean the information they reveal in pursuing that agenda can't be true. Hextall thinking he was smarter than the scouts, picking the guy he had a relationship and who fit his ideal mold of what a center fits perfectly with all the other information that's been revealed about Hexy's tenure in Philly and his tenure in Pittsburgh and what type of manager he is.

Contradicted by who? Where? The only "contradiction" was from people saying the Flyers scouts wanted Heiskanen, not Makar. Regardless of which name it was, the point would still be valid. Hextall ignored his scouts and thus passed on an all star for a player now out of the league. The only way the point isn't valid is if it was an outright lie. Can you provide a link to a single credible person refuting the Heiskanen rumor? Or is this all just you connecting links as to what's "obvious" in your head?

The negative leaks seemed to dry up as soon as Chuck was ousted. Not exactly an uncommon situation when there's a regime change. Could it have been Jonesy? Yes of course. But is he the only suspect? Hardly.

There were also multiple rumors about him being a finalist along w/ Olczyk before the announcement.

What does "the organization" even mean? There's multiple individuals that make up "the organization", some more powerful than the others. I think we all know Hextall wanted him. He seems like the type of player the old guard (Clarke and the other advisors) would swoon over. Do I think it's fully possible that many of the scouts had valid concerns about Patrick and liked Heiskanen more, but were shouted down by Hextall? Yep.

If that makes me gullible in your eyes, then oh well... I've certainly been called worse.

Curious on how we see Farabee approach the season in terms of play style.

I personally kind of saw him as a shittier, and worse skating (shocking) Gagne.

Tel me what his actual playing style is, because it seems they have tried to convert him into some sort of power grinder.
