I was looking at how our prospects are doing stat-wise this morning. I noticed that Romaine is having a pretty good start of a season in the USHL with 3g 9a in 17 games for .71 PPG. Anybody can comment on how well he has been playing overall? I remember I liked that pick at the time as a good gamble in the 6th round.

He had a monster weekend (6 points in 2 games) that is inflating his stats a bit. But saying that, he's earned his role in Green Bay. He didn't start out as the #1 all situations guy, but he's moved into that role. His skating has vastly improved, he's reading he play better, and over the last 3-4 weeks, he's asserting himself offensively. The main driver of his point production is off the PP though and he doesn't really project in that role moving forward. Not a ton of actual skill there. He's a good outlet passer, moves his feet well, and understands space... so there is some potential as a puck mover. Gonna have to see how that develops next year in college.

Yeah 6 pts in two games would inflate his stats no question there. Good to hear he is taking over as their #1D and that he has improved his skating a bunch. Looking forward to see how he does the rest of the season and in college as you said.

Best case scenario for Romaine is to become a #6-7 NHLer that doesn't flash in any way and is just an okay warm body out there that won't get too overwhelmed in sheltered matchups.

It would be nice if the Avs could finally get a 6th round pick to turn out. Maybe he develops well and the Avs can "toss" him out as a 3RHD behind Cale as a secondary "dish". It will be a "toss" up though if he will turn out or not. But before this can happen he will need some time in the NCAA and the AHL as he is certainly too "green" right now.

While this is far from a beauty OO now has 5 goals 1 assist in his last 6 games after starting the season with 1 assist in his first 9.

Meyers also scored a hattrick last night.

For anyone watching, how has Olausson looked?

Kovalenko is going to be a lot of fun.

Wood - Colton - Kovalenko is going to be a forechecking clinic. Opposing defensemen are going to hate them.

Really exciting stuff to look forward to. With how well the 3rd line has looked I'd keep them as is and be curious to see how Kovalenko would fit with Nuke. Ideally making our 2nd line another puck hound line. Just need to upgrade that 2nd line center...

Also side note, the skate flying in that video is terrifying.
