Broberg can play the right too. The one thing that is an issue is money. Edmonton no cap space and Bords makes 0.917 and Broberg is 0.863. With Campbell expected to come back up, they don’t have the cap space for that 0.065. I don’t miss those cap hell days.

They can just assign Bordeleau to Bakersfield since he's waiver exempt. Sadly I think they will probably get better offers though, like potentially Podkolzin from Vancouver. Sounds like they're interested in a one for one struggling prospect swap more than picks.

You think? I hope you’re right. I’ll take Broberg and a 2nd then for Mario. To be honest, I have no idea how Ferraro is valued on the market right now.

I think more competitive teams see Ferraro TOI as one of the main things, he can block shots and has a motor but just hasn't been a game changer. He has been a good player when surrounded by a good team (Canada's World Champion team from 2021 for example)
Also the cap hit is good for what he is asked to do in a team he gets traded to and with cap hit rising up, he could become a bargain.

Yeah and the point of trading Bordeleau for me is to get someone that has better potential or can already contribute. Broberg would be playing in Edmonton if he was good enough. He ain't. Package Bordeleau for a real asset or ride him out more.

Yes, but all I'll say is *normal* billionaires don't get there by wasting money. Elon notwithstanding, a lot of these folks are extremely thoughtful with money and more miserly than we'd expect. For example, why didn't we retain way more of Karlsson's salary? It's not like Hasso can't afford it, per your math. But he set a limit and Grier publicly stated that. There's evidence that he's not just gonna spend for any reason.

Politics aside, what you said isn't mutually exclusive with what I said.

The world's worst person could exploit their way to their billions and still be careful and thoughtful with how they spend their money. I'm not saying I like any of them.
