The love for marginal prospects. Never ends until they finally show they're AHL plus guys.

Brink is a good example of taking advantage of an opportunity, started TC ticketed for LHV, played his way into roster consideration, now playing his way into a top 9 and maybe a top 6 role.

Lycksell got an 8 game cameo last season, did diddly squat. Now his only hope is to shine in LHV, and sooner or later another opportunity will present itself, but he'll have to take advantage of it.

"Seize the day"

I don't think Lycksell or Frost are the kind of players Torts "hates," not sure he hates many players.

He does get frustrated with some players, TDA b/c he's uncoachable (given his play in Carolina, be overjoyed to eat the money and get a 5th and Rizzo back), Hayes b/c his skill set was a poor fit, same with JVR. With Bellows it was a lack of talent, with Allison, getting the player to optimize his limited skill set (below average passer).

With players like Frost and Lycksell, it's a matter of pushing them to be MORE aggressive, and not wait for the pretty play, more like TK, for example, who makes more than his share of mistakes but also makes good things happen. He pushed York to be more aggressive on offense and York has responded.

I'll need a Venn diagram of the people who're clamoring to sell off Kevin Hayes and the fans who think Cutter Gauthier is the future 1C.

Rizzo faced off against Gauthier last night, both had an assist.
Rizzo now has 10 points in 4 games.

EP has him at 5'11 174, Denver at 5'11 185.
Probably doesn't skate well enough to play center, but if his skating has improved, could push for a job at LW (LH shot).

Not that Pronman is a reliable source, but he did rank Rizzo #69 in a 2019 redraft.

I think Carolina threw him in b/c they didn't think they could sign him, given the depth of middle six forward prospects in their system. Rizzo can see the Flyers roster and an opening for him this summer.

Avon already running goalies, perfect fit. He's the fastest kid alive.

JR Avon playing today for the Phantoms for the first time
great but they scratched Gendron (is he hurt). It is almost as if the knuckle draggers have a speed quota. I'm not buying the 3 games in 3 nights either...

samson and gendron are both young as hell so theyre rotating them in and out for a few games. i dont know how much your approval factors into the decision but with how often our prospects seemed to get injured the last few years its not a bad idea to manage the load in the beginning

Normally, your responses are logical, fact filled and devoid of sarcasm. I'm not sure why the highlighted portion of your response was warranted. It is a discussion board so we discuss....
