This is why I don't understand why so many are down, Phi is crumbling, Was has a tough schedule , Pitts will probably get third in the metro, which only leaves NYI who have been inconsistent the whole year.

The way this team is playing they'll get swept in the first round. They need to go on winning streak here.

Why are we down?

Even with our rivals screwing the pooch - my gut feeling is this team will find a way to blow their chance at a shot for the playoffs.

Not just swept, but likely beaten soundly on both the scoreboard and on the ice via physical play which elevates significantly once the playoffs start.

If this team feels 'tired' or 'beat up' now...Oh boy they're in for a rude awakening!

The Wings are also sputtering. The last month has been like watching someone slowly bleeding to death.

Currently the wings control their own destiny. If they can put a 3 game winning streak together here they make playoffs. Beat Buffalo, beat the caps (both home games) and then beat the pens. If we win those 3 games I think they make the playoffs almost guarantee. No more excuses. No more moral victories. They either win or not.

I agree but I will say they're playing better hockey overall. They've just played some good teams.

It's why you have to win games against teams like Arizona instead of getting shutout. Or blowing a 4-0 lead in the second period and losing in OT to San Jose.

They need to bring Kasper and play him with Kane and Cat. He will bring a lot of energy and have him learn from the best. Don't know if Kane will be back next season.

Who cares. They aren’t making it.

Give me a solid example where they do.
NYI / PIT are gonna battle for it.

They win against Buffalo tomorrow, which won’t happen, bc this team can’t win right now, still doesn’t matter.

Coaching change for NYI made a huge difference

Too bad this team are born losers and same w their coach.

Seems like some folks thought the Wings could go from being in the second-from-the-bottom tier of bad teams, to being a good team, without spending some time as a mediocre team. Was never going to happen. And they're not going to go from mediocre to being a good team until 4-5 more of their best prospects are good or better-than-that regular players, which won't happen until they've played at least 100 NHL games, maybe close to 200. They'll probably also need to add a couple of quality veterans somehow. You think you're frustrated now lol, we've only just started to be mediocre again. Believe it or not, that's progress.

This whole season is just to get a playoff participation ribbon. Reward Larkin, give Mo, Raymond and now Ed a look at hard it is to win just one or two playoff games against an actual good team. It's been worth trying to do that because of the long drought and the benefit to a few players that might still be around in four years, which isn't many. So just win the damn ribbon and get it over with.

They need to get serious next season about starting the whole 100-200 NHL game experience deal with prospects who might be good enough one day to contribute something useful to a contending team. It's a pretty good list of prospects with that potential, so they have to start doing something about it. That means at least two rookies on the team next season, or for big chunks of next season, in addition to Ed, and/or adding one or two of the quality veterans they need in the top six and at 2RD. Them arriving sooner rather than later might accelerate things. Anything less than that commitment to becoming a quality team before this rebuild morphs into the next rebuild just means SY and company are happy winning participation ribbons while they unnecessarily delay getting going on what needs to be done.

Why not bring burger back up and give him a spot on the second line.
Screw it if they are gonna be out anyways might as well reward the kid and see who they can cut next year and try to re sign him. He's lighting it up down there currently so just give him his shot, maybe he'd run with it.. 1 more game then he'd have to pass through waivers..why not though? It'll be sign/ goto arbitration or get traded.

Debrincat Larkin Kane
Raymond Compher Burger
Perron Copp Fabbri
Fischer Czarnak Veleno

He's been up but never had a chance to stick on the second line and get some chemistry going with Raymond. Fairly dangerous 3rd line and the 4th line as least they all hustle 😆
