Pretty misleading title. At least how I read it at first. Thought they had just signed and traded him

I think you’re going to find a lot of teams interested in him. Calgary would be smart to do something a little later in the season closer to the deadline. A lot of teams might overpay.

Our old friend Hathaway with some physical play:

Torts was not a happy camper about the misconduct. Linesman for sure screwed up by not blowing the whistle sooner, but the hit by Hathaway was a cheap move -- shoulder to face, launched into him to some degree, and followed through pushing out with his arms. Will be interested to see what DoPS does, if anything.

He should not have been happy. I am usually tough on cheap plays ,and cheap players, like Hathaway, but that should not even have been a major. It was a late shove where the inside of the shoulder was the point of contact.
I dont see a penalty. He had the puck on his stick and hathaway didn't hit him in the head or in the numbers. He didn't even hit the boards.

Brendan Smith gets a hearing for chopping Konecny on the arm while Trouba gets $5k for doing it to the head....accidental or not that's f***ing ridiculous, they need to change the name of the department of "player safety" because they truly do not care about their safety.

In my mind that is 100% on the linesman. Nasty and physical? Yes. 5 min major? Ridiculous, in my book.

After watching the Hathaway hit again on a bigger screen you guys @quietbruinfan @Babajingo @Number8 are right. There wasn't contact to the face. Shoulder to chest. Yeah, shouldn't have been a penalty at all. No wonder Torts was livid.

Hathaway was somewhat muted from his standard as soon as he reached the Bruins, but remember that Tkachuk broke his ribs with a dirty crosscheck early in that series and that's a big factor as to why he was ineffective and unengaged physically in the playoffs

He usually has a good reason to be mad. There was a game years ago in his Columbus days when too many seconds were added to the clock in the third after a stoppage, and the Habs tied it in those extra milliseconds. Their goalie was injured in a shootout loss and I thought Torts was going to strangle the time keepers. Jackets should have won in regulation but we all know what happens in the Bell centre that late in a game...
