As for getting ahead of the social media swamp- from the statement it appears the Perry incident involves another Blackhawk employee or employees . The organization may not be allowed to say much in order to protect the privacy of the other person or persons involved. The last thing Chicago needs is to be guilty of "outing" this person or persons in addition to whatever took place..

So, they made the right call.
So if that's the case, can we challenge non-calls? Frederic was two handed in the head the other night, no call but it was clearly a penalty. I feel we're opening a can of worms here with situations like last night.

They called it a penalty like a minute after it happened and they reviewed it. I can't say I've seen anything like that especially with no call on the ice and play went on after.

If a linesman sees an infraction, he can consult with the referees at the next stoppage. Probably what happened in this case.

I wonder if Foligno wishes he was still in Boston
Listened to the guys on NBC Sports Chicago today and they could not say enough good things about Foligno's leadership in the room, not just all season but especially since the Perry story broke. They agreed that he is basically the captain of the team. They had heard about Foligno's reputation as a leader, but said to see it in action is something else. Apparently Nick has been quite a force in the room during this fiasco and is helping the team stay focused, as well as mentoring the younger players.

Nobody here will be surprised by that. Hell of a guy.

Uncle Nick is great. If Bedard is smart he'll learn a lot from that guy

Budget...There is a reason there are only one or two stars on the roster: Barzal and Nelson/Dobson on a good day. You can say it's Lou and you would be right in the end, but there is a reason they don't sign free agents except their own, and rarely make big trades...They do spend to the cap. I checked, I will give you that...

I'd say the Islanders' biggest impediment is tax. NY has one of the highest income tax rates in the US, then on top of that the cost of living in NY/Long Island is really high. So players get a lot less value for their dollar than in some other places, but without any positive trade off in terms of playing for an Original 6 team or one with a proven record of success. In that sense, yeah I can see that the Islanders can be a bit of a hard sell.

But every team has its challenges, and it's not like they've never brought in or retained anybody. I don't see them as especially disadvantaged, just in that big middling group of teams.

I will always love Uncle Nick. He's going to make a hell of a front office guy once he's done playing..

There is NO excuse for the Blackhawks to allow the social media sewer to go unanswered for close to 36 hours.

Danny Wirtz who now runs the team is only 46 and should have been aware that every hour of silence just fed the sewer.
Great word for it. Sewer. How I'm going to refer to social media altogether from now on
