Don’t think anyone is expecting him to make the Leafs and look good…

Even still, plenty of smaller players make an
Impact.
 
Other than his skating and stick handling which are obvious strengths the thing I liked most about him was that he goes to the net and isn’t afraid to do it. His goals were all caused by him going to the net and numerous times the whistle blew and there he is getting his hands up and gloves in the face because he’s right by the goalie in the crease.

Our big boys could learn a thing or two from him when it comes to that.

I was talking with a friend who knows someone who went to school with Easton...he had a funny story about him getting suspended for throwing a baseball at a teacher in the 4th or 5th grade. Sounds like the type of vinegar or snot that this team needs....he would have been a good guy for Babcock to attempt a phone inspection on...

At the time of this pick, I didn’t really know much about Cowan and just hoped for the best. After watching him a little more, I’m pretty happy about this pick! Kid is going to have a solid NHL career. I’m hoping he turns out to be a Konecny type player and can make an impact sooner than later for us.
 
One thing that made me not hate the pick(and no, I didn't watch him play) is that he had a monster playoffs for an undrafted player.

I feel like that is really rare in the OHL.

He had a strong rookie camp, it’s continued into pre-season and if he lights it up for London I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes the team as soon as next season.

I don’t think Kadri ever had his straight line speed. Kadri had a slight frame with long limbs and always had that light darting skating style but he was never fast. Cowan can just beat a guy straight line speed and also handle the puck with control at speed.

Cowan is also not as skinny or short as he looks in person. Has a pepper pot build, I kind of want to say like Steve Thomas.
