One thing that made me not hate the pick(and no, I didn't watch him play) is that he had a monster playoffs for an undrafted player.

I feel like that is really rare in the OHL.

He continously improved his game and his impact on it thru the course of the season. By the 3/4 mark his line was the 1A line.
And all 3 leas the teams offense come playoffs. Kid is a gamer and wrte lucky to see the progression here in London. He will be a fan fav in TO in a couple years. Kid wants it n will work to get it.

Marner is tall. Like 6-6 1

Mitch is 5'11" tops. Cowan is 5'11". Cowan weighs 185 and is much more solid.

If Roberson can do something we got solid winger depth. Knies is almost guaranteed to be good.

Cowan is bringing something I've missed, which is straight line speed, but not in a dumb way like Kapanen.

He looks far better than someone just picked 28th overall should in their first taste of action. Hopefully he can take this level of play to the OHL. He'd be a 1.5 ppg+ guy easy.

He definitely deserves another game or 2 in the preseason. If he repeats this performance he should play again after that.

I mean he was just good against rookies, these flies get mauled over in NHL. Look at our own Mitch Marner at that size. Tiny smurfs are bound to have not much impact on overall game.

Marner had 61 points in the NHL as a 19-year-old. They should all be so mauled.

Where else could he play if not with the Knights?

IMO, it's naive to think how he looked in a 1/2 speed pre-season game would carry over to the season.
Let him go back, play WJHC and win a Mem Cup. Think everyone will be better off in the long run.

I think he will go back to the London Knights, I could see getting a couple of regular season games if he keeps this up.
It will give him an opportunity to see what he needs to work on for next season.
Has he gets stronger he is going to be a beast .
With his speed and offense you are looking at a top 6 player , pk , pp .
Treliving knows that the hunters will turn him into the player he wants.

WJC is his goal this season.

It’s crazy to see Marner as the “old vet” taking a kid like this under his wing a bit lol … like Marner is the cool dude that Cowan looks up to. Crazy that we got to watch both guys in London

The kid stood out in rookie camp, he’s now standing out in pre-season… If he continues to impress, I don’t see why he wouldn’t get a longer look and potential dig into those first 8 NHL games before we make a decision.
