Fair enough!
We are used to it every time the WJC is in NA, still some people are not that much into it and wonder every year. It is a bonus this time all group games for Russia will be at the same time 0:30 AM MST except for the final game vs. USA that will force us hockey fans to celebrate New Year until 5:30 in the morning (or take a break from celebrating at that time:)).

Finally…

So it means:

Demidov - Khusnutdinov - Michkov
Tyutnev - Ponomaryov - Pashin
Svechkov - Guslistov - Chibrikov
Zlodeyev - Zinchenko - Didkovski

i will say i didnt expect Demidov to be the other winger , hopefully Yurov gets decent ice time as the extra

I still wonder why Miroshnichenko didn't get picked after seeing this start? Quite shocked after this first period against Canada. Together with Sweden I see you three as clear favorites with the US closely behind.

What does the start have to do with him being picked? Considering the other players that were left out he wasn't even particularly close to making the team.

Pashin took Miroshnichenko's spot basically. Pashin looked great in the game. You were saying?

Obviosly Michkov is ridiculous but I’m surprised how small he is on the ice. Guy is just swimming in that gear.

Askarov did nothing to help the team, but in this case, he is not to blame for this embarrassingly bad performance. It was 6-4, but it could easily have been 15-4. This Russian team didn't belong on the same ice as the Canadians in this game. Russian defenses have cultivated a reputation for being weak and passive, but this is, in my opinion, the worst Russian defense I have ever seen in this tournament. The Canadians were playing puck games right in front of the Russian goal. Based on this game, it is hard to envision Russia qualifying for the medal round. The coaching is almost laughably bad - but its not funny!

Agreed. Go back to Askarov against Switzerland or if Guskov craps the bed

I just don't like the cut of Askarov's jib. Russia needs a steady presence in goal. Meanwhile this guy is flipping and flopping. So sick of his shit.

How could RW Pashin took “basically” Miros Spot who like never played on the RW for Russia? Otherwise we got 6 goals against, were absolutely destroyed after the first period - no one except for Michkov was great. Pashin was invisible til his goal and after that.
