Not worried in the least. Plug some newer guys in (maybe younger) and play hockey. My list might be bigger than some others, however I don't see why Power, Wright, McTavish, Guenther, Johnson, Guhle, Neighbours, Perfetti or Greig would want or need to play. Nor will Drysdale, Sillinger or Jarvis play for obvious reasons. Provided lots of opportunity for others.

Possible replacements Korchinksi, Ceulemans, Johnston, Gaucher, Othmann, Savoie, L'Hereux, Roy, Bolduc

Yep, and it's really depressing, you take all those guys away and you have to wonder how strong a team this version of TC will be.
I'd say pretty strong still, Johnston and Ohtmann would be terrific players for this team, Clarke replacing Power swaps out our 1LD for a 1RD, Ceulemans had an excellent year in NCAA and is also an RD. Big losses with those players but it's not the end of the world, we'd still easily compete for gold.

I wonder if we see Adam Fantilli get a crack at the team?

He wasn't all that good at the U18 tournament a few months ago. and that was a tournament for '04 born players. what makes you think he'll be an impactful player in a tourney for '02 born players? Unless we get a lot of players opting out, I don't see much of a role for Fantilli.

I don't think we are going to see every player from the original squad back but I guess I am not quite as pessimistic as most around here. Some of these guys are going to want to play in this tournament even with NHL prospects in the fall. Like a lot of these guys would show up and compete in an exhibition summer showcase tournament most years pre covid and then go off to NHL camp.

I believe it’s been confirmed Ridly Greig won’t attend so there is one open roster spot.

i think habs should send Guhle and Wright. Let them play.

Josh Roy also likely going to replace Perfetti/Mactavish who I suspect won’t go

Keeping in mind that Hockey Canada shouldn't say anything right now unless they're going to say something that addresses the mess they're in, but is anyone aware of whether HC is simply naming a team or are they running a selection camp?

I'd like to see Mason Mactavish play, though it is insane how much hockey he has played in the last year since being drafted.

Ducks
Gulls
OHL - Petes
World Juniors
OHL - Bulldogs (including winning the OHL and going all the way to the Mem Cup final)
Olympics

Not really surprising, we'll probably see a few more of those. Looks like there are plenty of options to fill in spaces though.

Not really that big of a deal. If I were Hockey Canada I'd be sending him a birthday card later this year - see you in May for the World Hockey Championship.

Yeah, I do think that he could be a difference maker at the WJC level but I'm much more invested in the 2023 tournament. If his spot goes to someone who can contribute in 2023... I'm happy. 2023 IIHF world championship could be good for Perfetti.

Just rewatched the highlights from this past Christmas and damn, it is such a shame that tournament got postponed. The team was absolutely beastly, and even though certain errors will be corrected this summer (Brandt Clarke and Wyatt Johnston in particular), losing the services of Power, Perfetti, McTavish, and likely others hurts.

To me that's pretty close all things considered.

Yeah I doubt we will get to see Kent Johnson also. Luckily like you point out some players who missed the cut had monster years so it should still be a dangerous team

I think we will be down about a dozen players that were originally eligible.
