I could and probably should, but the doom and gloom conversely pisses me off too, that I constantly wonder what certain posters are even here for - like, sometimes it seems our fans love to just complain and hate on the team
I hear you, but being a perennial loser franchise wears on a fanbase.

There hasn't exactly been a ton of on-ice related things for us to celebrate over the last decade.

You can’t make someone sign for you who doesn’t want to be there. So that’s cool. The only tough part is that Columbus just got a whole lot better and they are one of the clubs we have to beat in our division. Historically they have beaten us season in, season out. We aren’t making the playoffs until we start at least playing teams like Columbus, the Rangers, Isles, Pittsburgh and Carolina even. This makes our division tougher.

Kudos to the Blue Jackets for pulling this off. They finally replace Panarin here.

Oh we just missed out on the top FA who we’ve been the presumptive favorite for, let me be all sunshine and rainbows. Mute me if you don’t like it.

Why can't Carolina pay Necas? I can get them not wanting to, as that's their MO if they think a player's not worth it but they aren't going to just dump him, seems like they have the space to fit him in if they want and would only trade him for major pieces in return.

Pacioretty is the one thing I'm disappointed in missing out on. He would've done a lot for us, but it's possible that Fitz is looking at that ledger for next season and wants some more certainty about his team.

NJ is at a disadvantage when it comes to taxes and cost of living.

Gaudreau would’ve made the Devils better but people also would’ve spent the next 7 years complaining about lack of size.

Signed the biggest FA last year and by all accounts were finalists for the biggest this year. It’s a more attractive place to sign that it was a few years ago.

Just don’t do anything stupid now. Stay the course.

Really? They were better than us last year and I’m pretty sure their additions in the off-season have widened the gap.

I mean, Haula and Vanecek are elite but…

i'm now highly tempted to create a main board thread titled "The Columbus Blue Jackets: A team on the rise" just to see the shit show it starts

That's fair but there's a whole off-season and a bunch of other options for us, not just UFAs. Problem is people seem to forget that during the offseason
Well the issue there is you arent not signing w Niederreiter because you may trade for someone in August

If the Devils are acquiring another forward at all I think its a pretty safe bet itll be by weekend's end

I already apologized in my revised post, sorry my dude

Yeah we did miss out, but who said it was about money, and who said there aren't better UFAs for us to chase next year? We still have the cap space. And there's nothing to say we didn't offer more. It's the hope/hype and disappointment that's killing you, let's be honest

What center are you playing with in Columbus better then Hughes? Just a bizarre decision.
Man this is exactly what my reaction was and I went and looked on Capfriendly - Jack Roslovic, Sean Kuraly (who?), Justin Danforth (who?), Kent Johnson (who?), Cole Sillinger. Listed centers.

He'll never sniff 100 points again. But I guess who cares, right? He got his paycheck.
