If money wasn’t a concern for me and the rangers offered me a contract I would love to say FU to them as well. Well played Johnny looking forward to playing you this fall.

As some have posted this is really not the end of the world guys. We have rebuilt the right way Johnny was not the perfect fit. Keep things status quo and keep our cap space until the perfect fit comes around, hopefully it will be next offseason when Luke and Nemec will be coming up.

I could and probably should, but the doom and gloom conversely pisses me off too, that I constantly wonder what certain posters are even here for - like, sometimes it seems our fans love to just complain and hate on the team

What then? There's a summer left to make moves, a lot of teams are capped out or near it, there's still work to be done. Gaudreau never made sense for the team where they are, yea he's a great player, but he doesn't fulfill a need. There was never any reason to outbid anyone for him, and if they did, I'll be disappointed, but also if they did, it means they are willing to spend, so you can't make these claims about maintaining cap space.

As I said with Fiala and then with this too - this is the last bullet. A Devils team with Gaudreau at 10 million is capped out, and though they potentially get a reprieve next season, it's still a lot of maneuvering to make any other big additions without big subtractions.

Re-sign the RFA's, see what Nino + Palat actually want and if it's sensible which I doubt after Gaudreau off the market. Scour the trade market for forward upgrades. First would be to Calgary for Tkachuk.

Dublin, OH (suburb outside of Columbus) is actually a lot like how NJ used to be years ago but without all the traffic. It resembles NJ a lot. So a move there would make sense if the cost of living is that much cheaper, which I wasn't aware of. I didnt know it was that low.

Sounds like he had his heart set on Philly and was heartbroken they couldn't make it work. If he grew up a Flyers fan then he probably had major reservations about playing for rival teams he grew up hating. Newark was never his home.

Carolina definitely can't afford Necas now and need a LD. Ty Smith for Necas makes sense for both teams. Heck, I'd throw in a middle-grade prospect like Clarke or Misyul.
