If Fitz offered more and JG still choose Columbus, then I can't blame Fitz.

You got to think NJ could of gone up to 10.5m.

Anyway time to sign Neiderreiter and call it a day. We have been productive today by upgrading the 3C position. Just need another top 6 winger in Nino, get Bratt re-signed and the rest of the RFAs re-signed. The opening roster will then be set.

Tarasenko is available, Necas is available. Tkachuk might become available. At the deadline, Patty Kane and Pastrnak may be available. Miller is just another name on that list.

My plan now would be to sign both Palat and Niederreiter and then plot the next move.
Palat does nothing for me

Niederreiter would be a good signing. Bigger frame and can score 25

It's quite possible he simply didn't want to join us given that he is a Flyers fan.

Also, even if we offered slightly more money isn't the state tax rate in Ohio considerably less than in NJ? The after tax difference may not have been that significant.

Best outcome for the team. Fitz should be heavily focused on free agency next season once Luke and Nemec are called up. Target players from cap tight teams. Bring balance to the bottom six. Don't overpay for players that are past their prime. Draft a stud forward or two. Just keep sailing the steady ship and don't make moves for the sake of making moves.

I have little to no interest in:

Miller
Kadri
Palat

This is given what they are going to be paid or what it will take to aquire them
