Has it been mentioned yet that Corey Pronman from The Athletic reported that of his league sources, the assumption is that the Habs will pick Slafkovsky?

I just can’t see it..I can’t see us passing on Wright or Cooley for a winger.

I don't get the point.. congrats you found out 5 seconds before the rest of the world.

Problem is that even without watching Twttier, TV guys will spoil it too....

I don't see it too especially based on advanced stats as well.

Engels said yesterday that if anyone tells you they know who the Habs are picking, they are lying. He said if he doesn't know, no one knows. I believe that.

If the Devils really are interested in Slaf and that the Habs want to swap pick with them, of course the assumption would be that the Habs would pick Slaf, otherwise the Devils would just wait for 2nd overall to draft him.

Pronman thinks we're taking Slaf but he's a hack so it's hard to say.

I have Luneau at 44 so ahead of Fisher and Havelid. So yeah if he's there, take him but he won't be and I was listing guys who I really like for the Habs pick.

Luneau is fine but I don't think we need -another- type like that.
I’d take Luneau at 33 if we strike out on Dmen in the first. He’s got the size and IQ to play in a top 4 and could even be a solid QB on the power play. He’s not the home run guys like Mateychuk and Hutson are but he’d be a solid double and I’d take him over the 2nd rate gambles.

My wife woke me up this morning and said “You know you guys are going to mess this up?”. She’s a Pittsburg fan from Pittsburg…
Yeah well they don’t rig lotteries anymore to help poor teams. They certainly won’t do it for a rich team next year.

I get a vibe from Pronman that he often thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. So it's no surprise to me that he'd take the darkhorse so he could be one of the minority at the end going "See? Look how smart I am. Told you."

Could be way offbase but I've been an Athletic subscriber for a couple of years and that's just the vibe I get.

He also said Makar was going first according to his sources in 2017. So he's not well connected.

It's pretty easy to figure it out, however. Engels, like most sports media members, is not overly intelligent.

«Wright has seen that speculation in the media and the criticism on social media about his output.

"If you see something on there, you can't really take it to heart. There are people out there saying things that have way too much time on their hands. It's someone saying it with nothing else better to do," said Wright»

Hey take that, Hfboards!
He is going to need this attitude in Montreal, the only opinions that matter are the coaching staff and teammates.

Pronman also said don’t rule out Marco Kasper for the Devils at 2. So basically he’s out to lunch.

I know you're not high on Luneau, I agree not in the 1st round but should he be available at Edmonton's pick at 61 or so, isn't he still ahead of say Grudinin Jansson Fischer(no more of those lol) Lindgren and Havelid?
Grudinin and Havelid are exactly the type of D this pool needs. Passing on them for another Struble/Guhle would be dumb.

If they go for the Q pick Id much rather Gaucher.
