Feels a bit like Caufield who wanted to be an NHLer asap even though he wasn’t ready physically. It’s gonna take some work but this kid seems like the real deal, very exciting.

He also must know we have nobody like him blocking his way to the NHL, we really need him to succeed.

Caufield made the best decision to stay 2 years in college and not only one. If Hutson really grow an inche or 2 i can see him do the same and then come with the habs.

How does he compare to Victor Mete? Mete also was a diminutive great skater.

Edit: He's an inch shorter than Mete as well!

Mete was a speedster, but didn't have anywhere near the amount of shiftyness, deceptiveness, and offensive acumen to his game. Basically all Mete can do is skate, whereas Hutson uses his skating to create lanes, angles, shooting opportunities, and he does it constantly.

Here is how Habs ended up with Hutson:

- They drafted Plekanec.
- They signed Matt Taormina as a UFA.
- They traded Plekanec to Toronto for Rinat Valiev & Kirby Rychel.
- They trade Valiev & Taormina to Calgary for Kulak.
- They trade Kulak to Edmonton for a 2nd round pick & William Lagesson.
- They drafted Lane Hutson with that 2nd round pick.
