Here is how Habs ended up with Hutson:

- They drafted Plekanec.
- They signed Matt Taormina as a UFA.
- They traded Plekanec to Toronto for Rinat Valiev & Kirby Rychel.
- They trade Valiev & Taormina to Calgary for Kulak.
- They trade Kulak to Edmonton for a 2nd round pick & William Lagesson.
- They drafted Lane Hutson with that 2nd round pick.
Would you trade Hutson for Kulak?

I heard even Slaf can't stop him lol, he stole the puck from him.
Quote from Stu Cowan:
Hutson was like a little ball of fun as he flew up and down the ice with great skating, vision and passing skills. He scored a couple of highlight-reel goals and was also able to poke the puck away from Slafkovsky during a one-on-one battle as the giant winger tried to drive hard toward the net.

The most exciting part for me with this kid is even if he was JUST on the team for the PP we'd still profit

Not Slafkovsky, not even Shane Wright could help our PowerPlay right now

What our PP is missing is This.Guy.

God I cant wait, just give us 1 1/2 more inches dude PLEASE lol
I will watch him playing in the NCAA all season, like i did with my last favorite pick, Cole Caufield, if you compare him with the other players on the ice, he doesn't look that small, he's taller than Caufield for sure.

How does he compare to Victor Mete? Mete also was a diminutive great skater.

Edit: He's an inch shorter than Mete as well!
It sounds like the comparison ends with what you pointed out are their similarities.

Once Mete got into the offensive zone, he turned into the pee wee kid who didn't know what to do with the puck. Whereas Hutson knows what to do with the puck more than most forwards, from the highlights.

Have you seen the video of him breaking ankles?

Mete could skate very fast in a straight line yes
This Hutson kid moves... differently, sleeker, shiftier, and most importantly with PURPOSE and isnt afraid to crash and bang

As for the height, well, we can only pray the condition HE himself brought up at the combine is a real one, with bone growth a bit delayed, and hopefully grows to about 5"10 (Hughes) or 5"11(Fox, Makar) , and if he does, we may just very well have our own lil 60+point dynamo on the back end

And we'd f***ing deserve it too

Taomina & Valiev for Kulak was vintage Bergevin.

Hopefully Kulak for a 2nd, 7th, and Lagesson is vintage Hughes - though hopefully he's also good outside of the bargain bin

I don't care about his development as a hockey player.

I only care about him making it to 5'11.

I'm not holding my breath. Remember Trump's "medical records" ?

But the skills may make him able to carve an NHL niche regardless of height.

Ti-Guy Flyé

I believe Ti-Cul would be more appropriate.

...hopefully he grows 3' and puts on 20-30 lbs of muscle.

Yeah I guess if he was 8'-9' tall he'd definitely be quite the monster.

I won't defend the CHL, but ncaa basketball players have told stories of having only a slice of bread to eat before a game.

Well I have a friend who played as an O-Lineman in the NCAA and he said he was treated like a prince. The guys on the team had their own cafeteria buffet with steaks and everything. IIRC he went to Nebraska.

Sometimes too much muscle mass and not enough work on core strength can cause groin injuries. When I used to lift weights and play sports I'd get them all the time. Doctors told me to do more core strength exercises...

That same football friend of mine also told me that guys that were too ripped/shredded often got hurt. The trainers often recommended them to have a few extra lbs. And yes Legs/Ass/Core seem to be essential to hockey players.

They’d complement each other like Pilsner and fettuccine alfredo.

??? I know a good ale goes great with a good curry.

The NHL lineup is actually pretty decent size at forward.

I noticed you didn't mention Caufield. Maybe we'll trade him for PLD. It wouldn't completely surprise me if we did.

I trust the combine numbers more than the Habs numbers.

IIRC aren't the kids allowed to keep their sneakers on when getting measured at the combine?

shut the f*** up, you are the last person to make fun of someone's opinion.

C'mon people simmer down.

Is Mailloux even playing? No reports on him.

Injured.

I think Hutson turns pro after 2 years in the NCAA.

I wouldn't mind if he stayed for 3. He needs all the physical development he can get.

Réponse la gravité, ...

Just FYI last time I checked this is an English board and we're supposed to post in English only. Who knows maybe the rules changed but you might get some static for it.
