Canucks fan here in peace with two questions.

I see that you guys really revamped the wings (currently listing Barabanov, then some mix of Zetterlund/ Hoffman/ Duclair/ Zadina/ Labanc, mainly projects and question marks). Would there be any interest in adding the likes of Garland (usually good for 40 point floor to around 50 point ceiling, plays both wings) or Beauvillier (former 1st round pick, 40 points this past season, pending UFA)? Depending on the offer, Hoglander may be on the table also. If there's interest, what would be available? (Not looking to take on much cap).

Also, would there be interest in Rathbone? His skillset is the same as our #1 D in Hughes and also in Hronek, both of whom are mainstays but I think he could help with the offensive end in your D-core (Ferraro/ Rutta/ Vlasic/ MacDonald/ Benning/ Thrun/ Shak don't have too much puck-moving upside from what I've seen). If there's interest, he could also sweeten a move for either Garland or Beauvillier, but again I'm curious what the Sharks might offer. Thoughts? Have a good day.
I can't see the Sharks being interested in Garland or Beauvillier except as cap dumps. I do think that Rathbone would be an interesting addition but I am not sure what the Canucks would want in return. I wonder if something like Weissblatt for Rathbone would work? I may be way off on the value though.

I’m not trying to be rude or anything but like why would a team that finished 4th worst want any of that?

I would love to add Garland assuming the asset cost is negligible and the Canucks are willing to take someone like Labanc back.

Guess everyone was right on Gregor. He still doesn’t have a contract. Not even a two-way which I’m kind of surprised.

He also is the reason why we don't have bedard. (After toews of course)

I dont blame Gregor and his untimely hat trick for losing Bedard. Bedard was always going to be a Hawk. In fact, I dont blame Gregor for anything. I love Smitty right now. (that's Will Smith)

Smith is either going to be the guy who you don't notice who gets 3 points in a game or someone who goes super saiyan every once in a while to guarantee a goal. Or he could be both

I see Smitty as the next Joseph Thornton of Passington.

And @Jargon ....what do you think of Eklund's spinorama then shot on goal move that he's got?

Oh I love Eklund too. Eklund strikes me more as really slick - was it Burns that called him a water bug? I think that’s super accurate. He’s really tricky with how he moves, it seems like he’s 3 steps ahead of how the game is moving and where people will be at any given time, so he floats through traffic like a little ninja.

Smith strikes me as someone who can dangle through 3 guys and then give an insane pass to his winger for an easy goal. I’ve seen several scouting reports say he’s got “get you out of your seat dangling skills” which we don’t really have.

Burnzie Called him a gecko. That spinorama is quite unique. No one else in the NHL really does that. If he can consistently translate it into scoring opportunities, it could be something great.

It’s sad that he’s literally the only other player I can think of in Shark’s history. I mean Karlsson was really slick obviously. Hertl, Couture, Meier can sometimes pull off a nice move, but I just want that excitement on a team that’s more often than not leaned on “big hard workers.”
Yea, like I want to be on the giving end of a Datsyuk/Sedin highlight reel instead of being on the victimized side.
