I would have been ecstatic to get a 4th for Bonino. A few months ago, I wasn't sure he was worth a 7th.

A 3rd for Boner would be great. Would be the 2nd time he's traded away by the Sharks. I'm trying to think if the Sharks have ever traded a player twice... but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

EDIT: Brad Stuart!!

Anyone trading for Bones isn’t doing it for his offense. He’s a smart veteran and is a PK demon.

Bob Errey. They traded for Jeff Norton 3 times!!

Why does this feel like it has Erik Karlsson written alllllllllll over it? Probably entirely wrong in who Detroit is going to target, but trading their 25 year old top scoring D-Man who is a right shot and making $4.4M this season and next while supposedly in the hunt for a playoff berth?

God I hope so, but it's probably Chychrun

Would he go to Detroit? I guess if it’s a choice between us and them…

Might not be a better opportunity available and I am sure he has immense respect for Yzerman and what he is building. Larkin signed long-term, they have loads of cap space to add more players, and his wife is much closer to her family in Ottawa this way.

Like I said, probably a long shot, but I could certainly see how it would fit and make sense with their team needs and cap situation being advantageous.

I'm confused, why was Vancouver even targeting Hronek? They're in a similar situation as the Sharks so I'd imagine they'd want more 1st round picks.
Vancouver is one big question mark. Never know what they’re doing.

I really hope Grier doesn’t turn around and trade the NJ 1st for Fabbro. That would be a very Canucks move.

He's not the one that I'd target and the NYI pick is shaping up to be right on the fringe of being pushed versus not on the top 15 protection.

I'm really not opposed to Grier moving the NJD 1st rounder if he could get a 22-24 year old that can grow with the core from a cap strapped team, but Vancouver trading the NYI pick seems silly because that is going to be way too high if they sneak into the playoffs and get eliminated round 1.
