You'd have to think that if Karlsson were going to Detroit, Hronek would have been who was coming back.
Making a late playoff pushSharks get Vlad Namestnikov
What is Mike doing?
Maybe cap dump? TBL I assume is in trouble, could come with a 3rd or something for future considerations?Sharks get Vlad Namestnikov

Buffalo has the cap spaceDetroit is the only fit at this point because they have immense cap space and wouldn't have to play a bunch of cap shenanigan games to make it work.
I could see them interested in Parayko, but not sure if you'd rather have soon to be 30 year old Parayko for 7 more years at $6.5M or soon to be 33 year old Erik Karlsson for 4 more years around $9M. I'm not moving Hronek to open a spot for Parayko though under any circumstance.
It's the new market inefficiency - tire out the opposing teams by making their scouting reports longer and more complicated. Is Grier just trying to acquire all of the longest last names in the league or something?
That’s what Grier said before making this tradeSharks get Vlad Namestnikov

Not really. Doesn't fit the window at the 1st and 2nd valuation that Vancouver paid. You'd have to think that if Karlsson were going to Detroit, Hronek would have been who was coming back.
If Barabanov is going, we're not taking dead cap and a 3rd.Would love to see Barabanov on TBL. Hopefully its him for Vlad and maybe a '24 3rd or Hugo Alnefelt.
Not that I think it’s likely, but you could say that Detroit flipped Hronek for assets the Sharks would prefer over Hronek. You'd have to think that if Karlsson were going to Detroit, Hronek would have been who was coming back.
If Barabanov were going, it would be “Barabanov to Tampa”, not “Namestnikov to SJ”, don’t you think? Not really. Doesn't fit the window at the 1st and 2nd valuation that Vancouver paid.

Agreed on both accounts. Not that I think it’s likely, but you could say that Detroit flipped Hronek for assets the Sharks would prefer over Hronek.

Now that you mention it, it’s totally Gregor, isn’t it?Agreed on both accounts.
1) SJ would not be wanting to take salary back in a trade and would like younger assets I am sure.
2) Agree wholeheartedly. Curious what TB is cooking up here. Could see it being Gregor or someone like that and then SJ getting a pick (though not sure what picks TB has left).
It'd have to be a 2026 1st since TB's basically traded all their picks for the next 3 years already.I swear if a 1st rounder is packaged with Namestnikov for a player we got on waivers not even 2 months ago I'll laugh my ass off.
