You'd have to think that if Karlsson were going to Detroit, Hronek would have been who was coming back.

Detroit is the only fit at this point because they have immense cap space and wouldn't have to play a bunch of cap shenanigan games to make it work.

I could see them interested in Parayko, but not sure if you'd rather have soon to be 30 year old Parayko for 7 more years at $6.5M or soon to be 33 year old Erik Karlsson for 4 more years around $9M. I'm not moving Hronek to open a spot for Parayko though under any circumstance.
Buffalo has the cap space

Would love to see Barabanov on TBL. Hopefully its him for Vlad and maybe a '24 3rd or Hugo Alnefelt.

Not really. Doesn't fit the window at the 1st and 2nd valuation that Vancouver paid.

If Barabanov is going, we're not taking dead cap and a 3rd.

Not that I think it’s likely, but you could say that Detroit flipped Hronek for assets the Sharks would prefer over Hronek.

If Barabanov were going, it would be “Barabanov to Tampa”, not “Namestnikov to SJ”, don’t you think?

Agreed on both accounts.

1) SJ would not be wanting to take salary back in a trade and would like younger assets I am sure.

2) Agree wholeheartedly. Curious what TB is cooking up here. Could see it being Gregor or someone like that and then SJ getting a pick (though not sure what picks TB has left).

Actually don't get this one unless he mouthed off to Quinn after his benching last night. Would imagine that there is an add from TB involved somewhere.

Now that you mention it, it’s totally Gregor, isn’t it?

If there’s nothing else to this trade, if it’s purely a 1-for-1, that suggests that Grier actually wanted Namestnikov, which I hate. Eyssimont could have just gone on waivers and probably would have been claimed.
