Speculation: 2022-23 Sharks Roster Discussion Part II

In a lot of the European leagues, the top scorer on each team is demarcated by something on the uniform. In the NLA (top Swiss league), their jersey literally says “TOP SCORER” surrounded by flames. In the Liiga, the top scorer gets a shiny golden helmet. I’m guessing that that game was very early in the Liiga season, so Pulli was the top scorer and therefor got to wear the special boy helmet.

I remember watching Sasha Barkov wear that helmet all year long in 2012-2013. What a special prospect he was.

Addresses a real organizational need on D. Don’t know much about Muk except that he’s a big kid at 6’4. I’ll do my research if things start to go that way.

We dont even get Zetterlund on a cheap or ELC deal because he needs to extend this offseason and should make a projected 4.3M according to the athletic projections.

So we wont be flipping him for the Coleman return anytime soon

Him being the primary part makes no sense

As much as I’d love to get a player like Mercer or Jarvis in return for Meier, I just don’t see it happening. If that’s what you’re expecting, prepare to be disappointed.

Because he couldn’t get the ludicrous return some around here are expecting? No, this return is realistic.

That proposed deal probably equals something like a late first and three seconds. Does that really seem like enough for Meier to you?

The Debrincat deal was 7th overall, 39th overall and a third.

I dont think we could trade the entirety of that package for 7th overall.

I dont like Holtz, but its hard to argue his value isnt atleast a mid first. If we dont get atleast him this deal is a failure and a bad one.

Do you think teams would offer signifcantly more if someone else were in charge? Grier is obviously going to take the best deal he can get. He seems to be doing all he can to extract value out of Meier.

How do we know? His job is to identify things that will hold significant value to the team, in this case for a long rebuild.

If he cant even get a single top 50 rated prospect for one of the leagues best wingers, I would believe hes not doing the job well and placing value on the wrong things.
