Goaltending still just screams major question mark for Toronto. They can win a round, but not sure they can truly think about advancing with Samsonov as their horse in net (and Murray is even worse).
You know what’s crazy though is that those two have performed better than Campbell did apart from like a month. I don’t necessarily think it’s their year but that’s mostly because I think the winner comes from the west. The east just looks like a freaking bloodbath with teams like BOS, TOR, CAR, NJD, NYR, TB all looking fantastic and I’m sure I’m forgetting someone. The west has DAL, COL and? I feel like the west term is going to sleepwalk to the conference final basically while east is going to fight and claw for every series. It’ll be the same sort of thing as when we lost to STL in 2017 or whatever year that was. Every series was just a battle.

I think this is Toronto’s year to finally win a playoff series. But they won’t beat Boston.

Apparently Hedman isn't having the best of years, which certainly bodes well for them. I don't know if favourites is the right word for them against Tampa, but it's definitely dead even if they aren't.

My latest thinking on Timo is definitely Carolina.

They're out of conference unlike STL/VGK, and with due respect to the Devils, the Canes are up with the favourites as legitimate Cup contenders- and most likely (and now in need?) of adding.

Timo with 50% retained (allows them to pick up another centre) for CAR 1st 2023, Scott Morrow, Jamison Rees, PHI 2nd 2024?

I find it very odd Labanc hasn't ever gone on waivers. Both Vrana and Kapanen are much better players and they had shorter leashes.

My semi realistic ideal TDL:

1. Kevin Labanc for Kasperi Kapanen
2. Noah Gregor for Dante Fabbro
3. Timo Meier for Scott Morrow, Jack Drury, and 2023 1st
4. Nick Bonino for EDM 23 5th
5. Radim Simek to anywhere for whatever
6. James Reimer to anywhere for whatever

Eklund-Hertl-Eyssimont
Couture-Drury-Barabanov
Svechnikov-Sturm-Kapanen
Kaut-Lorentz-Lindblom

Harrington-EK
Vlasic-Benning
Ferraro-Fabbro

Kahkonen
Dell

I feel like a Vrana/Labanc swap makes a ton of sense. Both 1 year left on their deals, less than a million apart in cap hits. Change of scenery for both players. Finish out the season with a Czeching line of Vrana-Hertl-Kaut.

Yea I feel like this is really the perfect trade. Maybe detroit just doesn't want salary back? Seems like it would benefit both teams, but hurt the tank.

What are the rules on conditions these days? Can "if player is traded" conditions be attached to a trade?
