I mean, Hextall was fired for locking out all of the advisors that we agree should be fired...so is it that bad of a thing to have him back?

Yes, because Hextall is still cut from the same damned cloth. He was trained under Clarke, Holmgren, and Lombardi. That he has his own slightly different take on things and tried to freeze them out is small consolation.

Bringing back a former player, AGM, and GM in Hextall, 5 years after firing him ourselves and immediately after the Penguins firing him, would be the worst possible "restructuring" of the front office. I can not believe that Briere or Hilferty could possibly be that stupid.

This guy who is part of the reason it will take so long saying this is hilarious.

Not as hilarious as the possibility of Hextall coming back. That would be elite comedy. Nothing matters until everyone has been fired.

I really have tried not to shit on Hayes because i have no idea what the pain of losing a brother suddenly like that can do to a person - short and long term. I don't know if all the stuff with him dogging it on the ice is him not caring about the team or just the result of having the soul sucked out of him, because i can absolutely picture that being the case.

All that being said, i won't miss him here. Not because i think his contract was a mistake or anything, but because playing on a team in a big sports market in this current state is the last place he should be.

Hextall has a much different take than all of the people you listed. He did everything opposite of what we normally do.

The weird thing Hayes stopped scoring but had solid advanced metrics after Dec 7.

Part of the problem was fit, they tried him at wing but he didn't look comfortable, with the top forwards committed to Frost and Cates, at center he got JVR, Allison and scrubs who couldn't finish plays.

I have to think CBJ will require the Flyers to take Gudbranson (3yr/$4M) to balance the contracts, and maybe a LHD the other way (Provorov would be a separate deal, with someone like Boqvist plus assets going the other way, they have Werenski, Jiricek and Peeke at RHD) but Seeler would be a cheap LHD throw-in.

There is nothing meaningful about December 7.

New STG episode. From ASF:

- Fans are going to be surprised just how willing the Flyers are going to be open for business for moving on from our legitimate assets, no one is going to be protected.

- Don't be surprised if Danny tries to move up. "Trade a player for a pick, then combine that with #7 to move up."

- Expect a lot of movement in the next 6-8 weeks.

- Zero chance that Hextall comes back to the Flyers in a "legitimate" capacity, but theorizes maybe he could get a role running the Phantoms. Alyn McCauley rumor with the Phantoms is not 100%

- Atkinson sought a 2nd opinion from doctors in Columbus who recommended surgery which immediately made him feel better. Mentions how the Flyers doctors' original opinion could have cost Atkinson his career.

- Can almost guarantee that Provorov will not be a Flyer next year. Both the team and he are wanting to move on. Believes there is still value there

Well, every asset 26 and older next year, I think it would take an overpay to obtain the 24 and under group, Frost, Tippett, Cates, Foerster, Gauthier, Desnoyers, York, Andrae, Zamula, Hart, Ersson.

But Allison, TK, Laughton, Hayes, Deslauriers, Provorov, Sanheim, Risto, TDA, Seeler are all on the block.

Good bet JVR, Braun, Bellows, Lemieux, Laczynski are gone.
