It'll be prefaced with "I think" so it's ok.

Dan Hilferty is an anagram for Darth Finley.

Chuck Finley was a pretty good Pitcher and I've heard of him.

Chuck Finley and Chuck Fletcher have the same initials.

Dan Hilferty doesn't actually exist and Paul Holmgren has created his next generation of shadow puppet. Q.E.D.

It might be simpler and worse than Holmgren pulling the strings...

Dan Hilferty has the same initials as Dave Hakstol. :eek2:

I wasn’t really paying attention but I’m pretty sure they just had a flyers update “commercial” on 97.5 and went on to say that they’re 7 points out of a playoff spot and an addition at the trade deadline could be a helpful one.
If that addition is a General Manager with a functioning brain cell, then yes, that would be quite helpful.

....they're actually f***ing buyers. Holy shit.

They have been 6-9 points out of a playoff spot for what, months now? And have never moved closer. Nor are they going to.

For clarity sake, it didn't sound like a Flyers produced update or anything. I'm really not sure who was talking but that's what I caught at the end.

Even for rebuilding, having players in their mid to late 20s is a good thing, b/c Laughton at 29 with 3 years left on his deal has real trade value, because the cap hit is manageable and you'd get him from 29-31.

Same with Provorov this summer if they want to trade him, two years left at age 27-28 is a valuable asset.

The problem with this team isn't that they're loaded with over 30 veterans, it's that they lack the 2-3 top players who'd push everyone else down to roles where they're better suited.
6 of the top 9 are under 25 in one post then the team is loaded with over 30 Veterans.... YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS SHIT UP!

They won more than they lost for a month. Recently. They've absolutely forgotten everything else. That's all they know. They probably need to lose out from now to the TDL to make me remotely confident they won't be buyers.

The Flyers are 14th in the East. To make the playoffs they would have to leapfrog

Ottawa
Florida
NY Islanders
Buffalo
Detroit
Washington

Don't trust anything that goes by "points" at this stage of the season. Florida and NYI have played five more games than Buffalo and Detroit.

I was sitting in a Hooters with some friends when I saw the ESPN text about the trade. I still remember that.

They should have mentioned that the 1st was then traded back to Nashville that summer for the rights to Hartnell and Timonen and the Preds selected Blum.
Remember being so excited about getting Kimmo. But man was that not great asset management on the back end.

If you're about to write a post explaining what this means for their overarching approach, please stop yourself unless you somehow know the guy personally. None of us have any idea.
Thanks, Jojo. You talked me out of it.
