The guy flat-out doesn't like Giroux for no rational reason, but wants to pretend it's rational. And won't just admit it. The discussion can go nowhere.
Sure, if you say so. Let me say this again for you. It has nothing to do with Giroux's talent or level of play. He can clearly still play and help teams. It was time to cut the cord. Actually the time was long before it actually happened. Has nothing to do with any like or dislike in anyway. will say it again for you as well. Do not dislike him at all. Is that clear enough for you?

Well we know that isn't true at all. Giroux asked Fletcher to bring him back & Fletcher told him no, in so many words.
Why did Giroux decide he wanted to come back to Philly before finding out where he would be traded to, or how his playoff run would go there, or what other teams would be interested in him as a free agent?

Okay fine, you're right. I'll save this for Festivus I guess.

Tis the season.
Having Giroux on this team will not lead to having any success nor will it make it more popular. Not sure why you cant grasp that. They are garbage with or without or do you disagree?

What does Kevin Hayes have to do with it?

Nope, kept reading. Didn’t change my stance.

Giroux did his job.

"I'm going to go out on a limb here but, next to BC, is there a Flyer who gave more to live up to the Club's image of toughness that Giroux."

That's what I was responding to, not whether or not Claude did a job. And there's no contest here. I went out of my way to say that it wasn't Claude's fault. Have I not been intense enough when expressing my hatred for the management of this team? It's their fault, but it doesn't change what happened.

It nauseates me that there are three (or however many at the moment) teams with worse records than us. And f***ing Chicago is going to line up Connor Bedard next to Lukas Reichel for the foreseeable future, even after the Beach scandal. Kill me f***ing now.

When you look at the odds of landing #1 in the lottery, they aren't that much higher for the worst record v say the fifth worst.
It comes down to lottery luck.

Just remember, Colorado had the worst record, ended up with #4, we jumped them to #2 and the Devils got #1.
Though I think Bedard is a little better than the two centers in that draft.
You're literally going to go with this argument? 25.5% is a far higher chance of getting the first pick then 8.5%. It's undeniable fact.

You must think that "red is due" at a roulette table because it was black the last five times but I know you're smarter than that so who knows why you made the statement. There's no helping you.

Your statement was asinine. You can admit that.

Irrelevant, b/c we're not going to finish in the bottom three, Chi, Ana and CBJ are terrible. Flyers are merely bad.
So 4th or 5th won't make much difference, 10th might.

You said worst record. It's ok to admit that your statement was asinine instead of trying to act like that wasn't what you actually said and now calling it irrelevant. That was the conversation being held.

We weren't talking about the Flyers or comparing 4th and 5th. We were talking about the worst record having "not that much higher odds" than the fifth worst team which is categorically false.

This doesn't make any sense at all.

Fine. You gotcha. Give yourself a gold star.

Why did Giroux decide he wanted to come back to Philly before finding out where he would be traded to, or how his playoff run would go there, or what other teams would be interested in him as a free agent?

Probably because he liked his situation.

From a human standpoint, he had a lot of good happening. The city (largely) loved him, he was the star player, he and his wife have lived there their whole marriage, and their child likely went to school here.

If G didn't care about winning the Cup as his top priority (which clearly it isn't since he signed with OTT), then it lines up perfectly with the story that G was ready to stay in Philly before the deadline hit & would go anywhere Fletch traded him to get more picks/players/prospects for the lineup upon his return in the summer.

I agree he had it easy and was very comfortable.

This has been just a rough past 10 years. Andrew MacDonald, VLC, Hakstol, AV, Risto, Kevin Hayes....

This club loves giving out fat paychecks to 2nd rate players.
