this is our version of that Sports Illustrated cover with all the Mets pitchers who either flamed out or are no longer Mets.
Trial at the Isle
The only thing worse than speculating on if a player is out of shape or not is the 14 "best shape of his life" narratives that training camps across each major sport brings us throughout the year
He wins a pile of Ashbee's thoughIf conditioning narratives were as important and accurate as people pretend they are, Provorov would be winning Norris Trophies regularly.
Never forget, this was after arguably the worst year of his career, where Ghost was great and outplayed him by miles. He wins a pile of Ashbee's though

These are the kinds of people who vote on those worthless awards.
Oh he shines on the PK alright...Yeah, MacDonald was the more useful player. He was mediocre and good on the PK. Ristolainen isn't even mediocre and doesn't really shine on the PK.

Exactly, so many people think they can wiggle their way out of this. They are going to suck to at best be mediocre for 5+ years, just take it on the chin and ride it out. Don't throw good money after bad money. The Flyers shouldn’t be buying anyone out. They made their bed now sleep in it.
Merely pointing out that you don't need to panic and dump him.So Hayes goes from being a moveable commodity without retention, to a slightly more difficult commodity to move with salary retention to now being staged away for a few years until a buy out is palatable. Are you ready to say that your uncle is a massive failure?
1st we are not rebuilding, they've made that clearFlyers have no business buying out contracts, that's a "win now" move to reduce the cap hit the next few years at the cost of a cap hit in out years - a rebuilding team should have cap room to spare during the rebuild, but doesn't want to waste it in out years when they have to start extending their young and upcoming players and maybe add a piece or two to finish the job.
And yet they acquire players and waste assets that make the team worse and that should be applauded.Merely pointing out that you don't need to panic and dump him.
If he keeps scoring, some team will overlook his defensive shortcoming.
But the idea we just dump guys we don't like and waste assets is silly, the point is to make the team better, not to make the fans feel better.
Wasting assets, funny you should be mentioning that, we gave away nak, who was an asset, you wrote that off as good management, care to explain the quick switch in your narrative?Merely pointing out that you don't need to panic and dump him.

literally said he signed in Colorado so he'd have the chance to win and then the Flyers claim him so he quits the NHL hahahaLukas Sedlak quits to go home to Czechia rather than suffer one more game with Tort’s Flyers.
Sedlak released by Flyers after request, will play in Czech Republic
Also says he left Columbus for the same reason.literally said he signed in Colorado so he'd have the chance to win and then the Flyers claim him so he quits the NHL hahaha
One of the more infuriating parts of the video is the fact thst people actusllly agree with yandle. This team and organization has lost us all. 100% we’re gunna play ourselves out of a top 5 picks too cus they can’t get anything f***ing right.I can't get over how f***ing embarrassing all these people are. The Yandle thing is just absurd.
Former player for the team as of last year; only had a job because his best friend plays for the team and the GM bozo who signed that guy loves him. Allowed to play atrocious hockey for months to pursue a personal record--even though it was doomed to fall within months.
That best friend continues to play some half-ass country club bullshit. The new coach--who for all his faults seems to be the only one in the organization willing to call out the bozo GM--sits him for a game.
So Class Act Locker Room Guy Keith takes it on himself to publicly undermine the new coach on behalf of his close friend, still the team's highest-paid player. Man, what a great look for the franchise! Hey, what a great f***ing message to send to all those young players YOU WERE LITERALLY IN THE ROOM WITH LAST SEASON. That's the example boys. That's how you Get It Done.
I mean, at the end of the day I hate all of these guys and it doesn't matter. But really f***ing shows how stupid the people running this show are to elevate these guys as Locker Room Leaders (at the expense of goddamn Claude Giroux) and what entitled childish pricks that Yandy/Hayesy gang is. Go start a podcast where you try to figure out how to pronounce the letter "R" or something.
Maybe to facilitate other deals and acquire assets no?NAK's been waived twice, and allowed to walk by a team with the cap room to resign him, that's an asset?
I didn't call it good management, been talking to your lumberjacks again?
I just said it was a nothing move, which it was.
What do we need cap room for? What big money extensions are on the horizon? Are we signing big money FAs?
We clear out JVR this year and the cap will go up $1-4M. More than enough room for 2023-24.
Sad and hilarious that Atkinson is done for the season according to CrossingBroad.
Sad and hilarious that Atkinson is done for the season according to CrossingBroad.
According to multiple sources with the team, forward Cam Atkinson will miss the remainder of the season, as he will undergo a non-orthopedic medical procedure.
Originally cleared by team doctors on November 28th, Atkinson had been practicing and skating with the team, including physical contact. While declining to discuss what had kept him out of action for the first two months of the season, Atkinson did say he was trying to build up his conditioning to get back to play. However, the team placed him on injured reserve Friday night.
Crossing Broad has agreed not to publish specifics prior to Atkinson or the Flyers announcing the details of this “upper body injury,” but it’s serious enough that it could be career-threatening to the 33-year-old veteran.
One Flyers source expressed that it was weird how the whole thing has played out, but completely understood why Atkinson and the doctors chose the path they did.
“We thought he would play,” the source said, matter-of-factly.
You don't need that much cap room to do that, for one thing, you're limited to retaining money to two players a season?Maybe to facilitate other deals and acquire assets no?
