We didn't miss the play-offs in consecutive seasons for a long time. At least they had the pretence of being a professional organisation. It was significantly better than... this.

Well I was referring more to the type of players they target and this who idea of doing favors to good ol boys. They don’t make hires in coaching or front office jobs based on merit. Been that way for a long time.
Holmgren thought he could turn Garett Klotz into a power forward. Same with Ghoulbourne. They waste so many draft picks. This isn’t new.

I would keep Cates and Tippett over Frost right now. Though I'm happy to keep all three.

Cates has steadily improved in a tougher role, imagine moving from LW to center as a rookie and being assigned the toughest defensive matchup every night? And his offense has improved the longer he plays at center.

Tippett makes more things happen on a regular basis than Frost. He's a dynamic player who lacks the instincts to be a great player, but like TK can make things happen with his speed and is developing confidence in his shot.

Frost has improved with more PT, but it's obvious he's never going to be an elite offensive player. If he becomes more consistent he can grow into a 2C role - but he still makes too many mistakes and goes MIA for stretches. And he's a disappointment on the PP, he's just not a top playmaker on the perimeter like G.

Tippett has the most physical talent of the three, Cates is easily the smartest, Frost is between those two in both aspects. None is easily projected to a first line, but the three could be a solid 2nd line down the road.
a little late here my bad but a few things, frost is doing fine, and does more on the ice then tippett. yea cates is in a tough spot being asked to do what he is doing, but he is only ok. hes a smart player but doesnt have some of the abilities that frost does offensively. when they peek i dont see cates butting up numbers like i think frost is capable of and i dont see frost being as good defensively as cates. i see cates as a middle 6 guy that will spend most of his career on the third and fourth lines, and thats not knocking him at all. frost has the ability to be a middle six playmaker that could put up 40-45 points. tippett could be a 20 goal scorer annually with some physicality. unfortunately, all three of them are playing for the flyers and i don't think you can expect any of them thriving with this team.

I think says all you need to know about how Torts views Bellows.
torts has been side ways calling out fletcher all season.

When you have Deslauriers, Bellows and Lemieux as your options at forward, who would notice you playing 7 D-men?

Gee, sounds like a good opportunity for them to do what you assured us would have been underway for months. And which I assured you wouldn't happen because Fletcher hates it and sees it as a problem.
