As we all know, defensive ability is inversely proportional to offensive ability, so the fact that he can’t help the team score to save his life is a great sign for people who care about the defensive side of the game.

The DeAngelo trade looks more & more
pointless as we move on from it.

He’s still one of their better trade assets. Although that’s not saying much. But probably won’t get what you paid for him back.

This isn't the only model that shows how bad he's been defensively.

The evolving hockey model has him as one of the worst defensive players in the league.

He falls into that category of player who is so detrimental on defense that it threatens to or does cancel out his offense. He was fine with Slavin, because Slavin is a mule on steroids. It was openly obvious such a situation doesn't exist here, and that paying that much in picks and cap space would be stupid because his overall impact here could never live up to either.

A bunch of amateur dorks on the internet could figure this out and Flyers Management can't. Until Flyers Management can outperform Internet Dorks, the team will always be dreadful.
