Can't wait to hear whose fault this is. It can't be Tortorella's and it can't be Fletcher's right?

With all of the defensemen around the league that are banged up right now, the market for replacements should be pretty hot right now. Is it going to be better at the TDL? The Flyers should be able to move someone now to open a slot for Z or York.
It helps that Seeler and Braun are cheap enough to add without cap ramifications for most teams.
But GMs often wait to pull the trigger, lower cap hit, more certainty about injuries and playoff probabilities.

Here is my favorite post:

I'm far more worried about Fletcher than Hakstol, as Bylsma proved with the Pens, give any coach top talent and they can win despite themselves.
And Sullivan is showing (as Lavi did in Philly) that so-called "brilliant coaches" become average when forced to play bad goalies.

Fletcher has the chance to finish the job if he can exercise restraint and not try to roll the dice for one or two years, there's a cap, blow your young talent on a few overpriced veterans and you'll be in cap hell and headed toward the basement within five years.

On the other hand, a series of smart, measured trades, not trying to make a big splash but strategically moving players in and out to create better chemistry, reliable depth, and a nice balance of youth and experience could put this team over the top - but it requires patience and judgement.

I'm happy to give Briere a chance to show what he can do as GM, ASAP. It's not like we get to pick who Fletcher's replacement will be. We just get to hope Fletcher is fired for four years of objectively poor results.

Evidently the Cronyarchy hasn't failed comprehensively enough to warrant a purge, so yeah. I guess we should see if Briere can finish that job. No better now than the present!

Scratch that, my favorite post was when a user called AppleyardIsAStooge quoted Appleyard to say "Stooge!" and nothing else.
Pretty proud of myself for not posting something mindlessly dumb in that thread.

Wonder if they even bother with the token "look we searched" interview of some washed up garbage bag that's been ripped open by crows.
If Fletcher is “let go” in season? Not a chance. Briere will be introduced immediately and it’ll be announced in the same press release as Fletcher’s “promotion.”

If he somehow survives the season? Maybe but still probably not.

In either situation they probably present it as an internal reshuffle instead of an actual firing and hiring process, which is pretty insane given how angry the fans will be. Most will see through that instantly.

It comes down to senior Comcast executives, if they retain Scott, or replace him with a similar figurehead, there won't be drastic changes.

If they bring in a dynamic executive with the mandate to "fix" the organization, all bets are off.

No, it comes down to the Cronyarchy and especially Clarke. If they're allowed to remain in place and have a single ounce of influence, then nothing changes. They're the ones getting their boy Briere appointed. They got Fletcher appointed. They got The Betrayer, Hextall appointed. They got Holmgren where he is now. Clarke and Fletcher both are tight with Lombardi, and why he's here doing damage. Changing the guy up top and leaving all the rest in place aside from a pointless shuffle results in zero change. The guy up top isn't causing all this misery, except in allowing all those slimebuckets to slime everything up.
