All on defense. Only need to score a little bit more. You have the worst f***ing offense in the league dude, they need to score a LOT of bit more. He probably got bladder cramps just saying "we should try scoring just a little."

Let's review the current state of pro-management fantasy points:

Point 1) Tortorella is in charge. He is calling the shots. He has the power.
--Status: Debunked. Otherwise a Bellows that Tortorella has been leaning on bizarrely hard wouldn't be waived out of the blue.

Point 2) Fletcher knows it is rebuild time and is rebuilding, and has been since he hired Tortorella and Tortorella gave him orders.
--Status: Debunked. Every move he's made runs contrary to a rebuild. He has repeatedly made it clear he doesn't think a rebuild is needed, and his actions always align with statements about making the team more veteran.

Point 3) The Flyers are good at player development
--Status: Reactor meltdown juice is less toxic for humans than the team's development processes.

They love tossing out the “but it’s different than before” nonsense when explaining away the same garbage results.

Chuck Fletcher is just a loser. He has no balls. There’s no way getting around it. He’s not cut out for any competitive industry. He should just be a greeter at Walmart.
What gets me is roping in Laughton as an affirmation of "but, despite that, it's better than last year, right???"

Say what you want, but he’ll always do what’s right for the team. I was smirking at him waxing poetic about how much better this 10 game losing streak feels than the last. Holy moly what a loser.

Chuck says he spoke with Scott about all of the actual possibilities were. I wonder what realistic possibilities Chuck presented to Scott during that conversation.

Lmao the entire bellows situation, this team is a rudderless boat and sinking fast.
you know when you see simeone overboard treading water but ibstead of rescueing them yiu toss them anything comes to hand even if it doesnt float...

Fletch is the guy in the water swimming towards anything that gets tossed in hopes it keeps him above water...meanwhile the rest of the league snickers as they toss their anchors towards him

Torts wasn't "Leaning" on Bellows, he benched him, gave him another shot, Bellows played better, good metrics but no production, then makes a dumb penalty (probably was warned about that), Torts decides he's seen enough, he has other prospects he'd rather give the PT to.

Anisimov makes sense b/c this team lacks centers - the same people bitching about him were bitching about Cates playing center and Hayes as a 2C - gee, get your stories straight! How are you going to develop young forwards if they don't have centers? And no, rushing Desnoyers is not the answer. People were projecting him to LW, so last thing he needs to be is rushed at center.

There are no easy answers for this team this year, other than Couts going to Lourdes.

Fletcher is either placating Scott (who probably knows he's getting pushed into retirement) or delusional, or both. Who knows?

Interesting that Torts goes out of his way to praise Briere, maybe he knows something . . . like who is going to get rid of the players he doesn't want.

He’s that guy who has no balls but makes panicky decisions to try to have balls and, surely enough, his decisions turn out to be balls.

Honestly, of all the things Fletcher has done lately, Bellows falls into that acceptable shit throwing tier. He did have a few good games; they fed him more ice time; he still hasn't produced. But they really should just call up Lycksell. He's already in your organization, a year younger, and has produced better as a pro.

The funny part is the context of having 50 f***ing contracts with Bellows, and you need to pray someone claims him again so you can sign the brittle 34 year old Anisimov to take further time away from a young player. This shit throwing isn't really a plan; it's just incontinence.

Some people throw poo at a wall. Others throw poo at an empty space in the hopes that they can build a wall.

Who would Anisimov take time from? Only possibility is Lacyznski at 4C, and if you're gonna keep him at center he's better off in the top 6 in LHV, given he's only played 48 games the last two years, is bouncing back from two hip surgeries, and needs to rediscover his offensive game.

Lycksell should come up, but only if they can give him top 9 minutes.
Farabee is a year younger, so he ain't playing over him.
JVR when he comes back needs to be showcased for the TDL.
Laughton the same, if not the TDL, maybe the summer.
So it'll be a tough fit until the TDL, they tried him at RW (just as crowded) and he looked uncomfortable.
Play him Deslaurier's 8 minutes a night? He'd be better off on the 1st line in LHV.

The amount of Big Loser Energy radiating off this team is just off the charts right now. Every member of the Eagles should be banned from attending Flyers game this season. We really don't need this... thing infecting the teams in this city that are actually worth the time of day. Jalen Hurts really does not need to know how embarrassing his next door neighbors are.

"chance to be competitive"
"I don’t know"…wtf do you know….
"I’m kind of excited to see if we can continue defending"

This guy is just clueless lol. So yzerman explains modern hockey and how offense/defense is transitioning but our GM is excited to see them "defend" and "play hard". He wants to see if we can survive defending teams, night after night

What a f***ing joke.

Nah, this team doesn't have a loser vibe. I've seen lots of teams go belly up and spend the second half of the season going through the motions, the veterans collecting a paycheck and checking tee times, the young players running around like chickens with their heads cut off b/c the coaching staff is spending more time polishing their resumes than coaching. Like last season.

This is just a team lacking in talent, but the fact they're playing even over the last 13 games at 5x5 shows they've got structure in place and the players are buying in - and Torts willingness to bench anyone at any time keeps the veterans on their toes - because even if they want to leave, if they can't pad their stats and half ass it, they have to play hard to get the PT to have a chance to keep their value up.

It was obvious last season that the team knew Yeo was "dead coach walking" and treated him as such.
Torts ain't going nowhere, but some players are.
