Yes they are 5 points out. They are also 5 points out of the basement in the Eastern conference.

While 5 points doesn't seem like much at face value, at this point in the season, the Flyers are projected to finish 18 points out of the second wild card...and that includes their "hot" start.

This team has zero direction and no hope with this guy at the helm. Torts talking about building a foundation, effectively rebuilding this team, while his GM is talking about walking through purgatory eternally... oh and by the way this was on the same day.

Give Torts credit - he knows this team is f***ed, and doesn't have any skill. He just doesn't extract the most offense out of his teams.

The worrying part is less so Fletcher’s terrible spin, who of course will try to save face, but rather if Dave Scott actually believes this.

Say what you want, but he’ll always do what’s right for the team. I was smirking at him waxing poetic about how much better this 10 game losing streak feels than the last. Holy moly what a loser. :laugh:

Serious answer now that I've bothered to see a calendar, could be that the 24th and 25th are both on the weekend and they get Thurs/Fri off for observance. So yeah probably Canadian holiday. No clue what US Federal observance is this year, as that tends to set the trend here.

Edit: Currently Fed observance is Monday 12/26, but don't be shocked if Friday gets added too.

Edit 2: Looks like Canadian observed dates for Christmas and Boxing Day are the 26th and 27th so I no longer know what's going on here

Don't worry , we have no clue up here either most of the time so we just go with the flow .
